Formed by former leaders of Humble Games, Balor Games oversees an expansive catalog of acclaimed indie games, following the acquisition of the Humble Games and Firestoke catalogs.
Balor Games aims to serve as a cultural curator for independent games, while providing expertise, resources, and belief-driven support to visionary developers.

Position Overview
  • Contract engagement focused on project organization, documentation, tracking, and meeting support at scale across PC, console, and more.

  • Keep producers unblocked and projects tidy, consistent, and current as titles move through development and release.

  • Partner across publishing operations, marketing, and external developers to keep information flowing cleanly.

  • A strong fit for someone early in their production career looking for hands-on, publishing-side experience alongside seasoned producers.

  • Outcomes-driven contract for an organized self-starter who's comfortable with ambiguity and supporting multiple work streams.

Key Responsibilities

    • Take notes, capture action items, and follow up on commitments from internal and developer-facing meetings.

    • Drive smooth, informative project updates with clean, well-organized data.

    • Flag risks, slippage, or gaps early, and bring potential solutions to the wider production team.

  • Product and player perspective

    • Participate in project feedback and playtesting, giving your perspective as a player.

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in game production, project coordination, or a closely related role.

  • Exposure to game development or publishing, ideally having supported the launch of at least one title or similar commercial project.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; you genuinely enjoy keeping things tidy and on track.

  • Clear, proactive written and verbal communication; comfortable interfacing with both internal team members and external developers and partners.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting; comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities.

  • Working knowledge of Airtable, Google Suite, Slack, Discord, JIRA, Confluence, and common production and collaboration tools.

  • A true passion for video games and the developers who make them.

Nice to Have
  • Fluency and knowledge of the overall game market and trends.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
