Job Summary

This position is an entry-level, 1st shift position that assists operators engaged in processing materials.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists operators at the coil loading and packaging ends of the line and as needed.
  • Build pallets and shipping containers using hand and power tools.
  • Band and palletize metal coils and/or metal sheets, placing tags/labels on finished products.
  • Perform quality checks to verify proper lengths, widths, and weights are adhered to using the proper tools.
  • Detects and reports faulty operations or defective materials.
  • Moves or carries parts, equipment, or materials.
  • Read and understand production orders.
  • Wraps and unwraps materials.
  • Housekeeping of work areas.
  • Operates a sit-down forklift.
  • Achieves production goals while complying with all safety requirements.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift. Training and certification provided regardless of previous experience.
  • Ability to read documents and interpret facts and draw conclusions.
  • Understanding basic math, reading, and writing.
  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Required:
    • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Working Conditions:

  • Production facility where the ambient temperature may fluctuate, and the noise levels may be increased.
  • Flexible to the possibility of overtime and weekend hours when required.
  • Days/Hours: Monday through Friday – 7am to 3:30pm
