Position Summary
As a senior product manager, you will inspire, collaborate with, and energize team members to deliver a world class suite of products and services that enable Happy Returns to continue to rapidly scale our business in the huge ($290B) market for online returns.
The senior product manager will:
Report directly to the COO/cofounder
Play a leading role in defining and managing Happy Returns technology, including our end-user-facing mobile and web apps, middleware, back-end, partner integrations, reporting, accounting, and other systems
Lead the day-to-day activities of our exceptional product development team in terms of prioritizing work, building new features, and addressing operational issues
Ensure the world class speed, reliability, scalability, and security of Happy Returns’ technology
Regularly and frequently update the COO and CEO of the status of new technology development
Work with retailer partners to understand their capabilities and complete any necessary work to get them up and running with Happy Returns
Perform any other work necessary to deliver a world class technology service to enable Happy Returns to rapidly and successfully scale our business
We are looking for someone with:
Outstanding product and design sense; must have the ability to conceive of UX designs that are simple and effective, including the ability to create rough wireframes
A high aptitude for learning new systems quickly and managing products across the full technology stack
Deep technical knowledge of software design and development; CS degree preferred, some level of coding beyond HTML/CSS required
A demonstrated track record of shipping products that are highly usable and reliable at scale: 4+ years and/or multiple referenceable products required
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
The ability to manage and prioritize development tasks to maximize the effectiveness of the team and maintain engineers’ energy and enthusiasm over time
Interest in e-commerce, logistics, and/or the L.A. startup community
