Description

Natech Banking Solutions is a leading European fintech company with nearly 20 years of experience in developing advanced banking systems for major financial institutions. Headquartered in Ioannina, with offices in Athens, Switzerland and Germany, Natech is at the forefront of digital banking innovation. Our comprehensive product suite includes core banking systems and digital engagement tools, enabling financial institutions to deliver exceptional service. In partnership with Piraeus Bank, we are also developing Snappi, Greece’s first digital‑only bank.

We are seeking a Product Owner with a strong background in payments to join our dynamic team. As a Product Owner, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation and delivering exceptional solutions in the payments domain. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including engineers, designers and business analysts, to ensure our products meet customer needs and align with our strategic vision. You will steer initiatives that span SEPA rails, TARGET2 euro settlement and cross‑border SWIFT CBPR+ traffic via Alliance interfaces, ensuring full ISO 20022 adoption across all payment flows. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our payment solutions and ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, compliance and user experience.
Your Responsibilities will include

  • Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for payment solutions, aligning with company goals and customer needs.
  • Define, document and continually optimise the complete payment lifecycle — from customer initiation and authorisation through clearing, settlement and reconciliation — so every backlog item maps clearly to a lifecycle stage.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritise features and create a clear product roadmap for payments‑related projects.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring that all product decisions enhance user experience and add value.
  • Work closely with engineers and business experts to support agile development processes and deliver high‑quality products.
  • Manage and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimising the development team’s efforts.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on trends in payments technology and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Drive end‑to‑end integration with SWIFT services (CBPR+ for cross‑border, TARGET2 for high‑value euro settlement, Alliance Access/Web Platform connectivity) and SEPA SCT/SDD/Instant schemes.
  • Champion ISO 20022 XML message standards (pacs, camt, pain, acmt) – define mapping rules, modelling guidelines and validation scenarios for each scheme.
  • Analyse customer feedback and usage data to inform product improvements and new features.
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle for payment solutions, from concept to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to payments systems.
  • Organise demos, pilot programmes and testing phases to validate product functionality and gather feedback fromstakeholders.
  • Provide training materials and toolkits to internal teams to ensure smooth adoption of new features or products.
  • Provide a concrete product roadmap that aligns with the company’s goals and strategy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Product Owner, preferably in the payments domain or fintech sector.
  • Strong understanding of payments systems (e.g. card payments, digital wallets, real‑time payments) and related technologies.
  • Hands‑on expertise with SWIFT FIN/CBPR+ migration and the Alliance product suite (Alliance Access, Alliance Gateway or Alliance Cloud).
  • Deep knowledge of SEPA credit transfer, direct debit and instant‑payment rulebooks, plus TARGET2 settlement timelines.
  • Proven ability to model, validate and troubleshoot ISO 20022 XML messages (e.g. pacs.008, pacs.009, camt.056, pain.001) using industry tooling.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable user stories and technical specifications.
  • Experience working in agile environments using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with APIs, UX design principles and online analytics tools for tracking product performance.
  • Solid knowledge of banking software systems (e.g. KYC processes, deposits, loans).
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining focus on delivering value to customers.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to inform decision‑making processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and non‑technical stakeholders alike.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
