The Product Owner I assists in delivering products and services by managing backlogs, prioritizing releases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business goals.
The Product Owner I will assist with the development and execution of a comprehensive approach to delivery. Works with Product Managers, Business Leaders, and a cross-functional Scrum team to deliver the product to the client. Assists with the overall efforts to deliver products, capabilities, services, and enhancements using the strategic vision as well as established key performance indicators. Understands the functionality and assists in determining the release sequence.

Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $72,100.00 - $108,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Primary Duties/Key Responsibilities:
Planning:
- Assists release train and scrum teams via product increment (PI) planning, prioritization, and software development details.
- Assists in the prioritization and management of the backlog and implementation.
- Works with assigned teams to maintain velocity.
- Typically assigned to work with one specific Scrum team.
- Partners with Product Managers to understand product strategy and roadmaps.
Development:
- Partners with team members to build, enhance and manage one or more products, capabilities or services.
- Assists facilitation of solution optioning with Engineering.
- Gains familiarity with Product Owner concepts, practices, and methodologies.
- Learns and applies industry and the company's Product Owner, Lean/Agile, scrum and related standards and policies.
- Supports special projects as assigned.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:
- Requirements Definition & Management - Assists in the definition and management of requirements. Uses standard techniques to elicit, specify, and document requirements for simple subject areas with clearly defined boundaries. Assists in the creation of a requirements baseline and in investigating and applying authorized requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.
- Analytical Thinking - Foundational knowledge of and ability to apply analytical techniques and tools. Analyzes issues, determines root cause, and creates/compares alternative solutions that are in the best interest of the business. Approaches situations by defining the issue, determining its significance, and identifying the forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand. - Project Administration & Management - Foundational knowledge of and ability to use methods, practices, and tools for managing projects. Documents project meetings, including status reports on deliverables and next steps. Supports cost-benefit analyses, tracking, and reviewing actual versus planned costs. Ensures project-related issues are surfaced, documented, and reported to appropriate team members, and have ownership for resolution.
- Requirements Analysis - Foundational knowledge and ability to elicit, analyze and document business requirements. Engages with the customers, users, and other stakeholders to gather requirements. Utilizes appropriate methods, tools, and techniques for requirements analysis. Challenges, and manages conflicts and expectations associated with requirements analysis.

Works with existing interfaces as well as integration and migration plans within own area and across aligned/associated areas. Explores major issues and considerations for successful system integration. Plays an active role in current and planned integration efforts.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 12 years' experience in a related field
- Working knowledge of Product specialty/job area principles concepts, practices.
- Working knowledge of SAFe Agile Methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into quantifiable actions/deliverables.
- Strong writing ability.
- Experience in design, development and implementation of product plans.
- Experience in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
