  • Participate actively in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with the UX Lead and UX/UI Designers to ensure user-centered solutions are defined before development
  • Partner with the Technical Architect and engineering teams to align requirements with technical constraints and architectural decisions
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, gathering requirements and managing expectations
  • Facilitate alignment across Product, UX, Engineering, QA, and DevOps teams

Discovery & Validation

  • Collaborate on user research, discovery workshops, and design thinking sessions
  • Validate ideas through prototypes, MVPs, and user feedback before full-scale development
  • Use data, analytics, and customer insights to inform product decisions
  • Define success metrics and track outcomes post-release

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure delivered features meet business requirements and quality standards
  • Accept or reject completed work based on agreed acceptance criteria
  • Continuously refine processes to improve team efficiency and product outcomes

Required Skills & Experience Product & Agile Expertise

  • Experience writing high-quality user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria
  • Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence

  • Ability to balance business priorities, user needs, and technical constraints
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Confident presenter and facilitator of workshops and product discussions

UX & Technical Awareness

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and UX processes
  • Experience collaborating with UX designers on wireframes, flows, and prototypes
  • Good understanding of modern web and mobile application development (APIs, front-end/back-end concepts)
  • Ability to work effectively with technical architects and development teams

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Product Ownership roles
  • Experience delivering web and mobile applications at scale
  • Background working in cross-functional teams with UX and engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
