The Team: 

Upstart's Growth team is dedicated to creating a seamless product experience that allows customers to effortlessly discover and access Upstart’s credit products, both for the first time and on an ongoing basis. By building exceptional, customer-centric experiences, this team plays a crucial role in making Upstart the premier destination for consumer credit, driving growth and unifying Upstart’s product portfolio into a cohesive, multi-product marketplace. 

As a Product Operations Manager on Growth, you’ll drive delivery for the products and platforms that power Upstart’s customer growth. You’ll partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to translate strategic priorities into executable plans - defining milestones, managing dependencies, mitigating risks, and ensuring cross-team alignment. You’ll work across multiple squads to create transparency, improve execution velocity, and ultimately ensure we deliver measurable business impact for the Growth vertical.


How you’ll make an impact

  • Drive execution across Growth team’s roadmap - partner with product teams to translate strategy into actionable delivery plans, define milestones, manage dependencies, and ensure consistent progress toward business outcomes
  • Own cross-functional delivery - coordinate work across multiple squads (marketing platform, customer platform, shared infra) and business teams to ensure alignment and business results
  • Enable speed and quality in how we ship - Identify and mitigate risks early, streamline planning and release processes, and champion delivery velocity for highest impact
  • Establish operating rigor and visibility - create frameworks, reporting cadences, and communication rhythms that bring clarity to priorities, trade-offs, and progress for leadership and partner teams
  • Drive continuous improvement -analyze delivery metrics, retrospectives, and program learnings to evolve how Growth teams plan, build, and deliver

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 8+ years of experience leading cross-functional software delivery or platform programs, ideally spanning multiple engineering teams and products
  • Technical fluency - able to understand system dependencies to drive informed decisions and unblock execution
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver complex roadmaps, managing competing priorities while ensuring alignment across engineering, product, and go-to-market teams
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with experience driving clarity and accountability across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the Growth domain across consumer and platform facing products, preferably in highly regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to improve delivery velocity and operational rigor through process design, tooling, or data-driven retrospectives

Position location This role is available in the following locations: Remote

Travel requirements As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions’ cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.

At Upstart, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package.  The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location–with our “digital first” philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

In addition, Upstart provides employees with target bonuses, equity compensation, and generous benefits packages (including medical, dental, vision, and 401k).
