The Product Marketing Role

As our Product Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for marketing and communications with our customer base of urban planners and large enterprises. You’ll get to know our customers deeply, telling their stories, crafting beautiful materials about our products and how to use them, and helping us accelerate sales to urban planners and other target segments. You’ll get hands-on with our product, gaining first hand experience that informs how-to-guides and product demos. From webinars, to workflow guides, to targeted messaging, you’ll leverage your creativity, writing skills, design sensibility, and passion to evangelize the power and impact of UrbanFootprint for our customers. Your work will support new and existing customers as they design and invest in more resilient communities and infrastructure. 

You’ll have great material to work with as you make your mark at UrbanFootprint. We make beautiful maps. We have unique data insights and high-impact stories to tell. You’ll be weaving these into your work as you collaborate with our multidisciplinary team of urban planners, data scientists, and customer specialists. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Crafting Compelling Product Messaging - Create clear and persuasive messaging that communicates the value and promises of UrbanFootprint’s products.
  • Producing Sales Enablement Materials - Create sales tools such as presentations, brochures, case studies, whitepapers, webinars, and product demos.
  • Owning the UrbanFootprint website - Drive design and content of the UrbanFootprint website, including gathering customer testimonials, creating clear ROI statements, and developing compelling narratives. 
  • Enhancing Our In-Person and Social Media Presence - develop webinars, customer-voice pieces and promotions, and plan our participation at key conferences and events.
  • Lead Generation and Nurturing - Develop and implement lead nurturing campaigns, including strategy development, email and landing page creation, and coordination with sales communication.
  • Monitoring Market Trends and Competitors - Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform product and marketing strategies. Identify key planning events and conferences in Q1 2025.

Your background likely includes:

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Marketing. You don’t need a marketing or communications degree, but you need to be really good at, and have direct experience with, Product Marketing. 
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or even Urban Planning if you have what it takes to do this job (or equivalent experience) 
  • Excellent communication and writing skills - you have to be able to write and generate great content. 
  • Strong design sensibility - we make beautiful things and love maps and data - so should you. 

Bonus qualifications:

  • Geospatial data and mapping experience.
  • Experience working with urban planning, architecture or engineering/design firms.
