Role Description:

ShipBob is hiring a Product Marketing Manager responsible for aligning our internal and external messaging across our core products and investment areas including our global and crossborder fulfillment suite, unboxing and customization solutions, and proprietary warehouse management software (WMS) for merchants. This person will work closely across the entire organization and be directly responsible for influencing improvements in new revenue, customer experience, go-to-market, and retention.

You must understand marketing, product, merchant experience, and sales alignment, while simultaneously working with our Operations leadership. We are looking for a hands-on do-er that wants to take our product positioning and messaging, product launch execution, and demand creation to the next level.

About You:

At ShipBob, we’re looking to bring on board people who embody our core values:

  • Be Mission-Driven.  We want team members that are passionate about helping entrepreneurs improve their business, and bring that passion every day.
  • Be Humble. We have ambitious goals, and our team members understand that success or failure depends on us working together and leaving egos at the door.
  • Be Resilient. Logistics is a complicated business. So is software. We value team members that never give up and keep iterating until a problem is solved.
  • Be a Creative Problem Solver. As a startup, we value smart, innovative solutions to complex problems. We fall in love with the problem, not our “favorite” solution.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver revenue and improvements in conversion rates across core investment areas and new product launches.
  • Run go-to-market strategies and support market requirements for core investment areas across multiple products, geographies, and user/persona experiences.
  • Manage demand generation, go-to-market projects, and communications internally and externally to achieve agreed-upon success metrics and internal KPIs.
  • Create and update campaign assets, including but not limited to landing pages, email, video, graphics, and ad copy.
  • Research and investigate competition and own positioning for our product, partner, and operational capabilities.
  • Conduct market & customer research to stay in touch with buyer needs, and create and maintain clear, differentiated messaging that resonates with our target audience.
  • Utilize data like "win-loss" information to inform the marketing, sales and product process with an accessible repository of insights; this can include pricing and packaging.
  • Be a trusted liaison that guides product offering and solution alignment for joint success with Marketing, Partnerships, Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Leadership.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience, specifically in ecommerce technology, logistics, or software. Direct experience marketing fulfillment or warehouse management software is preferred.
  • Experience with hands-on integrated marketing programs, from which you can showcase a portfolio of GTM campaigns.
  • Experience in content, digital marketing, email, and an understanding of how these push the business forward with sales and product.
  • Established success in executing marketing strategies and the ability to clearly articulate quantifiable impacts that benefited the company and the partner.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills and a track record for delivering clear and compelling customer-facing materials in the technology sector.
  • Solid attention to detail, highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, and highly collaborative.
  • Outstanding organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and consistently deliver on key milestones.
  • Experience with Salesforce, along with other sales and marketing tools like marketing automation platforms and conversational analytics tools.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
