Product Marketing Manager – Developer marketing

At Chromatic, our mission is simple: help teams build better, more trustworthy UI faster. Chromatic automatically tests and verifies UI changes across browsers, viewports, and themes, catching UI bugs before they hit production. We’re trusted by frontend teams at companies of all sizes, including GitHub, Adobe, BBC, Perplexity, and Shopify, to ensure UIs are tested and approved before reaching the billions of people who interact with them daily.

We’re hiring a Product Marketing Manager to create the technical assets that help engineering teams and leaders understand, adopt, and derive value from Chromatic’s and Storybook’s platforms. You’ll be on the Marketing team and will work directly with Sales, Developer Experience, and Product to support how developers learn, evaluate, and use our product.

This role is heavily execution-focused with an emphasis on building actionable, developer-centric content and assets that power marketing campaigns and sales enablement. Show developers and technical buyers how Chromatic and Storybook solves challenges in frontend delivery while directly impacting both product-led and sales-led funnels for the Go-to-Market team.

This is a fully remote position in the United States, Canada, or Europe.

Responsibilities
  • Write deep technical blog posts, tutorials, and guides that help engineers understand and implement Chromatic features.

  • Build comparison pages, and case studies that help teams evaluate Chromatic against alternatives.

  • Develop copy and logic for interactive assets, such as quizzes and calculators, with deep technical expertise.

    • Bonus: Ability to build and implement the interactive landing pages you design

  • Build and implement onboarding and nurturing assets, such as chat flows and email drip campaigns, to increase product adoption.

  • Run live webinars and workshops that bring developers into the funnel and nurture them toward adoption.

  • Develop technical sales enablement assets, including demos, decks, and talk tracks that embed a developer voice into the sales process.

  • Collect feedback from the field and distill developer pain points for GTM, Sales, and Product.

  • Help develop product positioning and messaging for product launches and feature launches alongside Developer Experience.

  • Maintain a high bar for technical accuracy and clarity to earn developer trust.

  • Proactively spot opportunities to equip GTM with developer narratives, rather than waiting for direction.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of product marketing experience for developers.

  • Deep understanding of the technical side of developer marketing and ability to speak competently to developers.

  • Demonstrable success in building multi-use assets that helped generate pipeline and product adoption.

  • Proven ability to build trust with developer communities with a point of view biased toward long-term meaningful engagement over shortcuts.

We’d be extra excited if you…
  • Have experience in Product Marketing in frontend engineering tools or developer testing tools.

  • Experience in web development and ability to build pages (JavaScript/TypeScript, React or similar).

  • Have experience directly impacting product adoption and revenue pipeline at a startup.

  • Have worked effectively in a distributed, remote-first team environment.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
