Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

As a Product Marketing Manager, you’ll play a strategic and hands-on role in shaping how customers experience Affirm’s products. You'll help define our product strategy, lead high-impact go-to-market initiatives, and develop compelling narratives that drive business outcomes.

This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong product intuition, strategic thinking, and a bias for action. You’ll bring deep customer and competitive insights to everything you do, and operate as a true partner to Product, Revenue (including Sales, Customer Success and Enablement), Partnership, and Analytics leadership.

What You’ll Do:

  • Shape Strategy Through Insights: Partner closely with cross functional teams  to shape the strategy that will efficiently and effectively drive acquisition and engagement across merchants and partners.  Leverage customer research, competitive intelligence, and market trends to inform strategy, execution and strategic prioritization.
  • Lead Go-to-Market Strategy and Execution: Own the end-to-end strategy and execution of high-impact GTM initiatives across your discipline. This includes crafting compelling value propositions, developing segmentation strategies, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and measuring success. Additionally, you will analyze complex data sets to uncover insights that inform customer communication, positioning, and refine marketing strategies.
  • Enhance Strategic Partner Engagement: Develop messaging and materials that inform the cross functional team and set each owner up for success, including strategic reasoning for quarterly communication touchpoints and customer segmentation strategies.  Drive meaningful business impact through scalable programs that accelerate adoption and growth.
  • Drive Effective Comms Strategy:  Build the consumer facing communication strategy that taps into rich insights to inform both product and partner execution.  Test, track and optimize communication strategies to inform future executions.
  • Operate with Agility and Drive Execution: Navigate ambiguity with confidence and bring clarity to complex, cross-functional projects. Manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously, anticipate risks, and maintain momentum through thoughtful planning and execution.
  • Leverage Business and Product Acumen: Develop a nuanced understanding of the Affirm ecosystem, as well as the revenue and cost drivers that impact marketing and product performance. Use this knowledge to shape GTM decisions that align with company objectives.
  • Collaborate across Teams to Drive Alignment: Build strong relationships across Partner, Merchant, Product, Sales, Customer Success, Analytics, and other key teams. Lead cross-functional meetings, resolve cross-functional dependencies, and ensure tight alignment on GTM plans and product initiatives.
  • Be a Culture Carrier: Serve as a champion of Affirm’s values and culture, consistently fostering collaboration, transparency, and innovation within the team and across the organization. Lead by example in creating an inclusive and growth-oriented environment, promoting open communication, and encouraging others to take risks and innovate.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5-10 years of experience in product or partner  marketing, or a similar role, ideally in a Payments or Fintech environment.
  • Proven track record of leading partnership strategy and communication alongside product launches and GTM strategy that delivers business results.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, able to connect the dots between customer needs, market trends, and GTM execution.
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for a wide range of audiences.
  • Highly analytical mindset—confident with data and able to extract insights that influence partnership communication and marketing strategies. Constantly leveraging data to optimize product performance and user engagement.
  • Confident cross functional team leader who is able to manage multiple relationships with partners, merchants and stakeholders to drive the marketing communication strategy forward with multiple team’s buy-in.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity and driving alignment in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
  • Outstanding prioritization and project management skills, with a keen ability to balance short-term execution with long-term strategy.
  • Creative problem-solver who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves, iterate quickly, and champion innovative solutions.
  • Experience working with in-house designers and content developers to drive flawless execution in both design and copy communication.  Work to tie customer facing communication together across multiple touchpoints with one cohesive strategy.
  • Campaign development leader with the ability to pull insights from customer data and build an effective campaign with multiple communication touchpoints.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, brings creativity and analytical rigor to problem-solving, and is passionate about transforming the way people access credit.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
