At Salesforce, the Portfolio Product Marketing team is responsible for developing the highest level messaging; positioning the company as the leader in AI, data, CRM and the emerging category of digital labor.

We are looking for a messaging and positioning guru to drive consistency and clarity across our global marketing team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Messaging and Positioning: Develop and maintain compelling product messaging and positioning for the entire Salesforce portfolio, ensuring consistency and differentiation in the market.

  • Messaging Hierarchy and Translation: Create and manage a clear messaging hierarchy that can be effectively translated for different regions, lines of business, and industries, ensuring global consistency and audience relevance.

  • Single Source of Truth: Establish and maintain a single source of truth document that tracks messaging changes and updates, providing a centralized reference for all stakeholders.

  • Training and Education: Conduct ongoing training sessions for marketing teams to ensure a deep understanding of the messaging framework, its evolution, and its application across various contexts.

  • Message Testing: Design and execute message testing initiatives to validate messaging effectiveness and gather insights for continuous improvement.

  • Market Intelligence: Maintain a deep understanding of Salesforce products, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to develop unique and impactful messaging that distinguishes Salesforce in the market.

  • Sales enablement: Develop effective sales training materials and operationalize enablement, making it easy for sales to understand our product offerings, key positioning, and marketing efforts

  • Core PMM content: Update and maintain core Salesforce pages, like the product overview, homepage, What is Salesforce?, Our Story, as well as overview deck, messaging grab and go, Trailhead Trails, etc.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with campaigns, enablement, creative, and PMM teams to translate messaging into impactful marketing materials and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing or a related field.

  • Proven experience in leading messaging and positioning development for a complex product portfolio.

  • Expertise in crafting clear, compelling, and differentiated messaging that resonates with target audiences.

  • Strong understanding of global markets and the ability to adapt messaging for diverse regions and cultures.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey messaging strategies and conduct training as well as bring our message to customers at SICs and Salesforce events. 

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Able to nimbly adapt to changes and keep up with the pace of the business and the industry.

  • Data-driven approach to decision-making and a focus on measurable results.

  • Experience with Salesforce products and/or other SaaS and B2B technology platforms is preferred.

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $193,800 to $281,100.For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $177,600 to $257,600.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $193,800 to $281,100.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
