About the role

Hex is seeking a Product Marketer to join our team.

We’re on a mission to make everyone a data person. Over the past year, we’ve unveiled some amazing innovations that make it possible for anyone to dive deep into data and get trusted, accurate insights. Over the next year, we’re going to accelerate our growth and we need someone to help us show up as our best selves, with great messaging, product releases, and a strategy for scale.

What you'll do

Product Story & Messaging

  • Develop a deep understanding of Hex’s product from a customer perspective
  • Craft clear, compelling messaging that explains what we built, who it’s for, and why it matters.

Launch Strategy & Execution

  • Own launch strategy for new capabilities, working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing.
  • Translate releases into compelling launch moments across blogs, emails, presentations, and enablement.
  • Write and edit launch content including release notes, blog posts, announcements, and internal briefings.

Go-to-Market Enablement

  • Create scalable, reusable assets for sales, sales engineering, and partners.
  • Embed product messaging into campaigns, field events, and demand programs.
What we're looking for
  • Customer mindset - you’ll learn the challenges customers face when working with data and how they derive value from it.
  • Willingness to get technical - you’ll need to build a strong technical understanding of our products, and how Hex helps customers succeed.
  • Creativity about distribution - you’ll help us bring new capabilities to market, delivering new releases and launches in a way that energizes customers and engages prospects.
  • Storytelling chops - help us tell an elevated story about where we’re going with our technology and how we’re disrupting established market players.
  • Full-stack thinking - We don’t want someone who wants to only play in release world - help us embed our product story into new campaigns, sales programs, and offers.

Some experience you might have had that would make you a good fit (not all of these are required, but it should paint a decent picture of the type of person we’re looking for):

  • You’ve been a product marketer at a B2B SaaS firm or you’ve been a Sales Engineer or a customer in the data & analytics industry.
  • You have some experience with BI or Data Science products (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Jupyter Notebooks, Dataiku, or related technologies)
  • You love writing and storytelling (as part of the interview process, we’ll ask you to share some samples of things you’ve written).

This role will be hybrid (2-3 days per week in office) based out of our San Francisco or NYC office.

In addition to our unique culture, Hex proudly offers a competitive total rewards package, including but not limited to, market-benched salary & equity, comprehensive health benefits, and flexible paid time off.

The OTE (base + variable pay) range for this role is: $160,000 - $240,000.

The salary range shown may be a reflection of additional factors such as geographical location and skill ranges/levels we’re open to. Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process, taking into account factors like leaving room for growth, internal fairness & parity, your demonstrated skills, and the depth of your experience. Our Recruiting team will be able to provide more details during the interview process.

By submitting an application the candidate consents to the use of their personal information in accordance with the Hex Privacy policy: https://learn.hex.tech/docs/trust/privacy-policy.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
