Position Overview:

The Product Manager is responsible for driving growth, profitability, and innovation across assigned product areas. This role partners closely with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Suppliers to develop and manage a differentiated product portfolio that delivers value to customers and positions Composites One as a trusted leader in the composites industry. The Product Manager leverages market, industry, and product expertise to guide strategic initiatives, communicate trends, and support both internal and external stakeholders while owning performance against defined business objectives.

Key Responsibilities: 

Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Develop and execute long-term product strategies and comprehensive product marketing plans that position Composites One as an innovative, dependable, and dynamic partner in the composites industry.
  • Leverage Composites One's competitive advantages and the unique role of distribution to drive market differentiation and profitable growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement strategic initiatives and develop contingency plans to address evolving market dynamics.
  • Create and recommend pricing and procurement strategies that ensure reliable supply, optimize profitability, increase inventory turns, and reduce aged inventory.
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers, products, and technologies to expand and strengthen Composites One's product portfolio.

Supplier Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships that create value for customers while driving revenue and margin growth.
  • Align with suppliers on vision and strategic direction to capitalize on shared growth opportunities.
  • Negotiate macro-level pricing, inventory positions, and freight strategies to reduce COGS and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Routinely assess the product portfolio to identify gaps, redundancies, and obsolescence, ensuring offerings remain innovative and market-relevant.

Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Research, analyze, and monitor global market trends to identify growth opportunities and mitigate competitive risks.
  • Analyze product supply chains to anticipate availability constraints and potential price increases.
  • Develop and communicate market insights and trend summaries to internal stakeholders, recommending actions to address risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor import and export activity to ensure continued competitiveness.
  • Partner with customers, suppliers, industry groups, and advocacy organizations to support broader composites industry growth.

Field & Sales Support

  • Collaborate with Sales Managers and Sellers to align strategies across Composites One, customers, and suppliers.
  • Develop training materials and communication tools to equip the Field Sales team with current product and market knowledge.
  • Conduct customer visits alongside sales teams to provide product training, share market insights, identify needs, and strengthen relationships.
  • Attend and participate in industry trade shows and events.

Expected Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business-to-business marketing, sales, technical service, engineering, or business management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include business, marketing, or engineering.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) within a Windows environment.
  • Ability to influence and lead without direct authority; high energy, emotional intelligence, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including customers and suppliers.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills to manage multiple product lines in a global environment.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment and driving innovation.
  • Ability to define vision, set direction, and translate strategy into actionable tactics.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with SAP.
  • Composites industry experience.

Location & Travel:

  • This position may be performed remotely.
  • Up to 50% travel required, including local, national, and international travel.

Pre-Employment Requirement: 

  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and background check. This requirement is especially critical for safety-sensitive roles.

The annual base salary range for this position is $165,000 - $195,000. The actual pay will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
