Headquarters (HQ) builds and operates the back office for cannabis companies—MSOs, brands, and retailers. We combine high-skill operational teams with proprietary workflows, analytics, and automation to deliver SG&A reduction, AR acceleration, inventory accuracy, sales-ops support, and retail margin optimization.
We are expanding our internal technology organization to build a complete cannabis tech stack through a mix of in-house tools (AR dashboards, credit scoring, automation suites, VMI modules, reporting environments) and API integrations with best-in-class platforms (Dutchie, Hoodie, Metrc, Odoo, Front, Dialpad, QuickBooks, Snowflake, Make.com, etc.).
Role OverviewThe Product Manager will be the connective tissue across HQ’s services, engineering, data, and delivery teams.
You will:
- Define the business outcomes for every tool HQ builds.
- Determine the “build vs. integrate” strategy for each module in the cannabis tech stack.
- Prioritize competing internal initiatives and maintain a single source of truth for what gets built, why, and in what order.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering , operations, BD, and delivery teams to ensure each release ties directly to client impact (revenue, SG&A reduction, AR acceleration, inventory accuracy, etc.).
- Lead product discovery across the entire cannabis ecosystem—understanding where Dutchie, Hoodie, Metrc, and other cannatech players begin and end, and where HQ should fill the gaps.
- Own the HQ technology roadmap (AR tools, inventory tools, automation, dashboards, credit limits, API integrations).
- Prioritize initiatives based on business value, urgency, and client impact.
- Translate high-level business problems into clear product requirements with measurable outcomes.
- Maintain a shared roadmap that aligns ops, engineering, sales, and leadership.
- For each tool or feature, define the “success metric” (collections uplift %, hours saved, error reduction, sell-through improvement, etc.).
- Align these outcomes with client CFO/COO priorities.
- Ensure every build has a quantifiable ROI tied to SG&A reduction or revenue lift.
- Drive the long-term vision of HQ’s proprietary + integrated technology layer.
- Architect the roadmap for modules such as:
- HQ Retail Margin Engine
- HQ VMI Tool
- HQ Credit Limits
- Tech-enabled services automation
- Ensure each module contributes to an integrated “HQ Operating System” for cannabis companies.
- 4+ years in Product Management OR deep ops + technical hybrid experience.
- Experience with API-driven products or workflow automation.
- Familiarity with cannatech systems (Dutchie, Hoodie, Metrc, Odoo, Indica Online, or similar).
- Ability to translate messy operational processes into structured, automated workflows.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Experience working with engineers, data teams, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort leading discovery with clients and turning insights into roadmap items.
- Built integrations between multiple SaaS systems.
- Background in BPO, operations, or cannabis operations.
- Prior experience in analytics (dbt, BigQuery/Snowflake, Looker, Superset).
- Ability to map business processes end-to-end (AR, collections, SKU management, pricing, VMI, retail buying).
- Prioritization and judgment
- Systems thinking
- Technical curiosity
- Process mapping
- Clear communication
- Outcome-based planning
- Ability to ask clarifying questions and resolve ambiguity
- Stakeholder management across engineering, ops, BD, and clients
