The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Product Manager, Installables to drive the evolution of RetailMeNot’s mobile app and browser extension into our primary Loyalty platforms. This role will lead the vision, strategy, and execution for transforming these products into essential tools for converting deal-seekers into engaged, long-term users. You will be responsible for driving product innovation, defining key success metrics, and working cross-functionally to optimize and scale our installable platforms.

This is a hands-on, technically fluent PM role. Beyond roadmap and strategy, you’ll work directly with engineering on technical trade-offs, use AI tools to prototype and validate ideas quickly, and bring a builder’s mindset to how the team ships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for RetailMeNot’s mobile app and browser extension

  • Reimagine the role of installables within our ecosystem, ensuring they deliver maximum value in supporting our Loyalty programs

  • Collaborate closely with CRM, Marketing, and Engineering to build user-centric experiences powered by our Customer Data Platform (CDP)

  • Drive initiatives that personalize and optimize user journeys across the app and extension to increase retention and long-term engagement

  • Lead A/B testing and data-driven experimentation to continuously refine the user experience and maximize conversion from casual users to loyal deal seeker

  • Partner with Business Development to expand integrations and partnerships that enhance our installable platforms

  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies to drive product differentiation

  • Use AI tools to rapidly prototype and validate UX concepts for the app and extension, collaborating with design and engineering to move from idea to testable prototype faster

  • Partner directly with engineering on technical feasibility and architecture trade-offs for browser extension permissions, Manifest V3 constraints, and cross-browser compatibility (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)

Job Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a strong background in mobile apps, browser extensions, or consumer loyalty programs

  • Experience in leading and scaling installable platforms (e.g., iOS/Android apps, Chrome extensions) with a focus on user retention and engagement

  • Strong analytical mindset, with a track record of using data to drive product decisions and optimize performance

  • Proven ability to navigate complex cross-functional environments, aligning stakeholders and executing against ambitious roadmaps

  • Passion for consumer savings, loyalty programs, and eCommerce innovation

  • Comfortable working with technical concepts — reading basic code/pseudocode, understanding API constraints, and communicating fluently with engineers on architecture and feasibility trade-offs, even without a formal engineering background

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar) for product work — prototyping, data analysis, spec writing, or user research synthesis

  • Experience with Chrome Extension architecture (Manifest V3), browser storage/permissions models, or similar installable-platform technical constraints is nice to have

  • Portfolio or work sample demonstrating a prototype you built or directed (Figma, no-code, or AI-assisted) is preferred

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
