The Opportunity

Our Public Safety Product Management team is looking for a strategic, execution-oriented Product Manager to own the product management responsibilities of Pro Suite, our Computer-Aided Dispatch, Records Management System, and Jail Management System solution used by 911 dispatch centers, law enforcement agencies, and emergency response teams nationwide. This role guides cross-functional teams charged with growing and evolving Pro Suite — from increasing the profitability of the existing product to shaping new capabilities based on customer input, market trends, and emerging technology.

This is a unique blend of business and technical savvy, big-picture vision, and hands-on execution. You will balance user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility to deliver mission-critical software that our customers depend on in life-or-death situations, and you will bring modern, AI-informed product practices to how Pro Suite is built, prioritized, and delivered.

Job Duties Include

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and own the Pro Suite product roadmap strategy, aligning stakeholder priorities with market opportunities and customer needs
  • Independently manage the full Pro Suite product lifecycle, from concept and business case through launch and ongoing optimization
  • Conduct user research, competitive analysis, and market assessment to identify growth opportunities and inform strategy
  • Leverage market and competitive data, including AI-powered analytics tools, to prioritize feature development and build the product roadmap
  • Establish success metrics and KPIs to measure Pro Suite's performance, adoption, and business impact
  • Communicate product vision and strategy to executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders

Execution & Delivery

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to translate requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Make data-driven prioritization decisions, balancing new feature development, technical debt, and operational improvements
  • Evaluate and champion opportunities to embed AI and automation into Pro Suite to improve dispatcher efficiency and outcomes
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to create intuitive experiences for users working in high-pressure environments
  • Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning activities with development teams
  •

Go-To-Market & Customer Engagement

  • Coordinate the marketing of Pro Suite with our marketing team, including positioning, market segmentation, launch plans, pricing, and distribution strategy
  • Partner with marketing and sales to develop go-to-market strategies, messaging, and packaging for new features and releases
  • Prepare for and present product demos and roadmaps at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences
  • Gather customer feedback through on-site visits, user interviews, and advisory board sessions, serving as the voice of the customer internally
  •

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with sales, customer success, and professional services teams to understand customer challenges and market dynamics
  • Coordinate with third-party partners and technology vendors, including AI/ML solution providers, to integrate complementary capabilities
  • Provide product training and enablement to internal teams and customers
  • Participate in RFP responses and strategic customer engagements
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Key Competencies

  • Customer-Centric Thinking: deep empathy for dispatchers and public safety users, translating their needs into product solutions
  • Strategic Vision: sees the big picture for Pro Suite while managing tactical, day-to-day execution
  • Technical & AI Acumen: comfortable discussing technical concepts, system architecture, and AI/ML capabilities with engineering teams
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: uses analytics, metrics, and AI-assisted insights to guide prioritization
  • Stakeholder Management: builds consensus and navigates competing priorities across a large organization
  • Execution Excellence: delivers results in fast-paced, mission-critical environments
  • Communication: articulates complex ideas clearly to executives, engineers, customers, and partners

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of product management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or public sector technology
  • Hands-on experience using AI/ML tools or applying AI capabilities within the product management lifecycle (such as AI-assisted analytics, generative AI tools for research or content, or shipping AI-powered product features) is required for this role
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated success owning and delivering products from concept through launch
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working with engineering teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Analytical mindset with experience defining metrics, analyzing data, and making evidence-based decisions
  • Ability to travel for customer visits, conferences, and team meetings

Preferred Qualifications

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
