Meet Slingshot

At Slingshot Aerospace, we're on a mission to make space safer and more secure for everyone. Our work directly impacts global security, disaster response, climate monitoring, and the critical infrastructure that connects our world. We're a team of builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers who believe that the next generation of space operations will be powered by better data and smarter software. We move fast, we're not afraid to fail, and we believe the best ideas can come from anywhere—whether you're in engineering, sales, product, or operations. If you want to work on something that truly matters, with people who care deeply about the impact we're making and help shape the future of an industry that's just getting started, you're in the right place.

What You’ll Be Launching

We’re looking for a strategic, systems-oriented Senior Product Manager to lead the development of our integrated experiences. This includes impacting the experience of multiple applications that highlight the value of Slingshot's data, AI and hardware solutions.

This PM acts as the connective tissue between growth, pricing, platform, and customer experience, ensuring that the most critical user workflows are clearly defined, competitive in the market, and scalable across customer segments.

You’ll identify what matters most: the right workflows, right customers, and right capabilities, then partner with cross-functional teams to bring those to life in our integrated platform.

We're building a team of sharp, creative people who love solving hard problems. We value curiosity over ego, initiative over waiting for permission, and people who genuinely care about doing great work. Bring your expertise, your fresh ideas, and your drive—we'll bring the rocket fuel.

Your Mission (Should you choose to accept it)

Product Strategy & Market Alignment

  • Define and refine the core workflows that span across capabilities and modules and support user journeys end-to-end.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to benchmark workflows, offerings, and pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate with your Program Management and Engineering partners to align plans with application structure and product tiering.
  • Define who our target customers are by segment and ensure that the product supports their evolving needs through research validation.
  • Build frameworks for mapping capabilities to business outcomes across user types and pricing tiers.

Platform Coordination & UX Integration

  • Partner with platform and data teams to ensure technical infrastructure aligns with product usability and integration goals.
  • Collaborate with design and research to evaluate workflow efficiency, feature discoverability, and product cohesion.
  • Translate architecture and backend capabilities into intuitive, unified application experiences for our customers.
  • Guide design around multi-product integration, with strong UI/UX instincts and a customer-centric mindset.

Validation & Success Metrics

  • Establish KPIs for product engagement, activation, and success across application workflows.
  • Validate decisions through a mix of user research, analytics, and iterative prototyping.
  • Identify opportunities for growth moments and self-service upgrades directly within the application.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Influence

  • Serve as a strategic partner to product, platform, design, marketing, sales, and engineering teams.
  • Own and evolve the integrated application roadmap to reflect evolving business, platform, and customer needs.
  • Supports product planning rituals, sprint scoping, and discovery processes across multiple teams.

Pre-flight Checklist

  • Must be eligible to obtain or maintain US Government Security Clearance, preference given for active TS Clearance.
  • Spatial data, AI, data analytics, aerospace
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, platform apps, or cross-functional systems
  • Proven track record in multi-product or integrated experience design
  • Familiarity with pricing strategy, self-serve SaaS flows, or customer segmentation preferred
  • Strong technical fluency; able to work closely with engineers and data scientists
  • Excellent collaboration, synthesis, and communication skills
  • Experience using tools like Figma, Notion, Jira, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Looker
  • Experience working on government contracts
  • Ability travel, 30-50% of the time

Bonus Cargo

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Think in systems, not silos — and know how to bring focus to complexity
  • Love turning customer needs and internal capability maps into clear application UX
  • Can balance technical platform constraints with growth and monetization goals
  • Thrive in fast-paced, multi-domain product organization

We're building a constellation here, not looking for identical satellites. Every member of the team brings different capabilities to the same mission. If your orbit intersects with ours and you're mission-ready, send it.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
