About Vailent & Vinmar

Vinmar is a global leader in the marketing and distribution of polymers and chemicals, operating in over 100 countries with more than 45 years of success.

Vailent is a subsidiary of Vinmar, created to reimagine how polymers are bought and sold. We’re building a technology-enabled B2B marketplace that gives buyers and sellers a faster, more transparent, and more efficient way to do business. Our platform is designed to empower Vinmar’s global network while transforming an industry that has seen little digital innovation.

Why Join Us

  • A culture that values technical excellence, ownership, and innovation.
  • High impact, real ownership — Your work directly shapes the future of a global industry.
  • Autonomy & trust — Freedom to own projects and make decisions.
  • Team & culture — A collaborative environment where leadership is accessible, and people genuinely enjoy working together.
  • Growth & learning — Opportunities to learn new skills, take on big challenges, and grow with a company on the rise.
  • Flexibility — Remote-first culture with balance built in.
  • Competitive compensation — Salary, benefits, and support for professional development.

About the Role

At Vailent, you’ll join a small, agile, and fully remote team with the backing and stability of a global parent company. We combine the autonomy of a startup with the reach of a world leader. You’ll find the freedom to own your work, the support of approachable leadership, and the opportunity to solve complex challenges that directly impact how an entire industry operates.

As Product Manager for Marketplace Experience, you’ll focus on building the end-to-end experience that drives catalog discovery, customer engagement, and procurement efficiency. Your goal is to deeply understand B2B buyer behavior and the procurement decision-making process, then design workflows that not only convert catalog views into quotes and order requests, but also increase platform stickiness.

You’ll own how buyers and sellers interact with the marketplace: from search and product discovery, to catalog navigation, product detail pages, and beyond. This role requires a strong grasp of B2B e-commerce workflows and customer lifecycle management.

What You’ll Do

  • Own marketplace discovery & conversion — Define and execute product vision and strategy for catalog, product search, product details page that drive customer engagement and quote requests.
  • Understand procurement deeply — Leverage insights into how B2B buyers evaluate, compare, and decide on products to optimize workflows and reduce friction.
  • Champion the customer journey — Cover every touchpoint in the buyer’s lifecycle (discovery, quoting, ordering, and follow-up) to maximize retention and long-term engagement.
  • Drive cross-functional impact — Work closely with design, engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure marketplace features reflect both buyer needs and seller goals.
  • Measure & optimize continuously — Define and track KPIs such as catalog engagement, quote conversion, product request volume, and repeat usage; run experiments to improve outcomes.

Requirements
  • 2–5 years of product management experience (marketplace or SaaS background is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, user journeys, and product discovery.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to launch.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills, with experience using analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment.
  • Deep understanding of B2B purchasing workflows — what influences buyer decision-making, how they discover products, and what builds trust.
  • Experience in polymers or chemicals is a plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
