About the Role

WEX is a global fintech company helping businesses simplify the way they manage and pay for complex operational expenses. Across mobility, corporate payments, and employee benefits, WEX builds technology-driven solutions that remove friction, create trust, and deliver real-world impact at scale.

As we continue our journey to “simplify the business of running a business”, we are building a unified, world-class digital experience across our products and services. We are seeking a Product Manager III, Platform to join our Health & Benefits organization and help drive the execution and delivery of scalable platform capabilities that power our customer-facing experiences.

This role is ideal for a product manager who thrives at the intersection of platform strategy, technical execution, and cross-functional collaboration. You will own the delivery of platform services that enable product teams to move faster, reduce complexity, and deliver meaningful value to customers.

How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Product Manager III, Platform, you will:

  • Own the execution and delivery of new and enhanced platform products, services, and processes within the Health & Benefits line of business

  • Translate business, customer, and technical needs into clear product strategies, roadmaps, and prioritized backlogs

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Architecture, Design, Data, and other Product teams to deliver scalable, API-driven platform solutions

  • Drive alignment across multiple stakeholders by clearly communicating tradeoffs, dependencies, and outcomes

  • Lead agile delivery across one or more engineering teams, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives

  • Use data and customer insights to inform decisions, measure success, and continuously improve platform performance

  • Support multiple initiatives in parallel, spanning different stages of maturity and delivery velocity

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who brings both strong product fundamentals and technical depth:

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, ideally within employee benefits, healthcare, insurance, fintech, or enterprise platforms

  • Proven experience delivering products built on API-driven architectures (REST, GraphQL, webhooks, integrations)

  • Strong execution track record, including launching, iterating, and scaling platform capabilities

  • Deep familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and hands-on experience partnering with engineering teams end-to-end

  • Demonstrated ability to work across 1–2 engineering teams and multiple product teams simultaneously

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to guide product decisions and measure impact

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical constraints into clear business context

  • A customer-first mindset with a passion for building solutions that reduce complexity and delight users

What will give you an edge

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience partnering with platform, infrastructure, or developer experience teams

  • Ability to bridge core systems and application layers to reduce cognitive load for developers

  • Familiarity with scalable, composable, and event-driven architectures

Why Join WEX

At WEX, you’ll join a company that combines the stability of a global fintech leader with the opportunity to drive meaningful innovation. You’ll work alongside collaborative, thoughtful teams who care deeply about impact, outcomes, and building experiences that truly matter to customers.

We offer a flexible, inclusive work environment and are committed to helping our people grow their careers while shaping the future of digital experiences at WEX.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
