Job Summary
Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is seeking a Product Manager who wants to help build the best user experience on any streaming app. As a Product Manager within the Subscriber Experience product team at DE&ET, you will work on features that help users discover relevant content before and during playback in order to improve engagement.
The ideal candidate for this role will be an expert at synthesizing first and third party user research, industry trends and user data to deeply understand the needs and motivations of streaming and live TV viewers. This person will have the passion and know-how to harness these insights into a compelling vision that can be embraced not only by leadership but also the cross-functional partners such as design and engineering that will transform it into an outstanding user experience. Responsibilities

  • Help lead the development of features that improve the user experience for browsing/discovering content, both before and during playback
  • Serve as in-house expert on all the ways that users watch video as well as how competitor services are attempting to meet user needs
  • Define product requirements, objectives, and success metrics for features
  • Facilitate collaboration between the Product team and the Engineering, UX Design, Research, Data and Customer Service teams to deliver features in an agile environment
  • Collaborate with our data and experimentation teams to run A/B experiments and validate hypotheses.


Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of product management or relevant experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required
  • Experience working in a digital media or streaming business
  • Proven record of collaboration in a multi-disciplinary environment to deliver high-quality features that improve the customers' experience and achieve business goals.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to drive clarity with engineering and design partners
  • Ability to generate customer insights from data trends, and proven success with data-informed decision making.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on media streaming products or services, particularly with video players
  • Experience with experimentation
  • Master's degree or MBA


The hiring range for this position in New York, NY and Seattle, WA is $118,000 to $158,200 per year, in Santa Monica, CA and Bristol, CT is $112,600 to $151,000 per year, in San Francisco, CA is $123,400 to $165,400 per year . The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
