The Role of Product Manager Data Platform

At Accelerant, we are revolutionizing the insurance industry through our AI driven Risk Exchange platform, which processes and handles mission-critical financial data for participants across the insurance ecosystem and provides unprecedented visibility into portfolio performance. 

As Product Manager Data Platform at Accelerant, you will identify and deliver high impact data driven capabilities across the Accelerant Risk Exchange platform with a focus on increasing Accelerant’s differentiation through data resulting in value for our Risk Exchange participants. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders at our strategic partners, our Finance team, our Distribution team, and Operations team among others to identify high value opportunities to solve mission critical business problems. You will then work with Engineering, Architecture, and other Product Managers to deliver solutions leveraging an AI-Native approach. You will work in a fast-paced environment harnessing new AI based technologies enabling rapid evaluations and iterations providing opportunities to react to feedback and deliver value early and often. 


What You'll DoStrategy & Discovery
  • Define and evolve the Accelerant Data Platform by gathering requirements from all stakeholders and applying them in a forward-thinking way to support the Risk Exchange strategy and company objectives
  • You will focus on identifying opportunities to deliver value to Accelerant through solutions that enable the Risk Exchange to scale in a highly efficient manner, that solve real-world challenges through data, enable data driven business decisions, and provide unparalleled experiences through high data quality and value
  • Working with other Product Managers, Engineers, Architects, and Designers to ensure the delivery of high value, high quality, and differentiated solutions that delight our users and meets or beats all desired outcomes
  • Collaborate seamlessly with external customers, Operations, Business Solutions Group, and other functions throughout Accelerant, serving as a liaison between business needs and data platform deliverables to continue to maintain differentiation for Accelerant


Execution & Delivery
  • Collaboratively develop and own the roadmap for data ingestion and consumption on our platform with a keen focus on optimizing the experience whenever possible
  • Ensure full understanding of Accelerant company goals and work collaboratively with your team to define Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) in alignment with company goals and then execute to meet or exceed those goals
  • Prioritize and manage a clear outcome driven backlog in collaboration with the business, Engineering and technical leads, ensuring clarity of scope and alignment with team goals while ensuring iterative and high-quality deliverables
  • Champion a culture of AI-native, rapid experimentation, quick iterations, rapid feedback loops, and continuous improvement as it pertains to value delivery while proactively identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement


Collaboration & Communication
  • Communicate strategy, plans, and platform outcomes to all levels of roles both inside and outside Accelerant
  • Work with other Product Managers and functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, high-impact data products and platform solutions
  • Collaborate seamlessly with Operations, Business Solutions Group, and other functions throughout Accelerant, serving as a liaison between business needs and data platform deliverables and communicate progress often and effectively
  • Co-create with Product Design to shape intuitive workflows, test product concepts, and improve usability through iteration.


You’ll Be Successful If You Have
  • At least 3 years experience as a Product Manager delivering commercial products taking an outcome driven approach
  • Background in data-rich product domains and how ML & AI can be used to maximize value from data and solutions
  • Experience with AI-native productivity and creation tools such as Replit, Cursor, V0 (Vercel), etc. to develop prototypes used to rapidly validate desired outcomes
  • Comfort in interpreting and understanding business requirements while collaborating with technical teams to define solutions.
  • Experience in Financial Services and/or Insurance market especially with insurer/carrier data delivery
  • Experience working with modern data platforms such as Snowflake
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when working across disciplines.
  • Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and make progress without full direction especially with driving business requirements to conclusion by understanding data in detail, employing previous experience to assist in breaking “log jams” and getting agreement and sign off
  • Experience in solving data challenges including the ability to query and understand data
  • Experience working with and managing geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated success working with C-level executives
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and staying informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices
  • A big-picture perspective with a passion for success and willingness to dive into the details necessary to achieve it
