About Revel

At Revel, we are revolutionizing the way the world’s most critical hardware is controlled—across aerospace, automotive, energy, robotics, defense, and advanced manufacturing sectors. Our next-generation software stack combines an intuitive command/control interface, a specialized programming language tailored for hardware control, and a high-performance runtime environment. We empower engineers to build, test, and deploy critical systems rapidly, reliably, and safely.

Our dashboards and control interfaces are central to operating mission-critical hardware — in environments where clarity, speed, and correctness are essential.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Product Manager to join our Dashboards team. This is an individual contributor role with team management responsibility over a dedicated squad of engineers and a designer.

This role is for someone who deeply understands high-density, mission-critical interfaces — and cares about why users request features, not just what they ask for.

Today, feature requests often enter the roadmap as tasks. We’re looking for someone who will build strong relationships with users, uncover real pain points, and bring opinionated product judgment to what “good” looks like in complex control interfaces.

You will work directly with customers operating real systems, collaborate closely with engineering to scope and prioritize features, and partner with the Head of Product on long-term UI/UX vision and roadmap strategy.

What You’ll Do
  • Work directly with users in aerospace, nuclear, and other hardware-heavy industries to deeply understand their workflows and pain points

  • Translate feature requests into clearly scoped product requirements grounded in user need and system constraints

  • Write high-quality PRDs that clearly articulate what we’re building and why

  • Own roadmap planning for dashboards and communicate priorities across engineering and customer stakeholders

  • Build tight feedback loops with customers to validate shipped features and measure real-world impact

  • Partner closely with design to craft intuitive, high-density information interfaces

  • Ensure dashboard UX meets the standards required for mission-critical and potentially hazardous systems

  • Provide context continuously — aligning engineering, design, leadership, and customers around product direction

  • Contribute to longer-term dashboard strategy alongside the Head of Product

This role requires strong product judgment, structured thinking, and a willingness to operate in highly technical environments.

What We’re Looking ForMust-Have Experience
  • 3+ years of product management experience (or highly relevant adjacent experience)

  • Experience building or working on software for hardware systems

  • Exposure to HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) — either building them or operating them directly

  • Familiarity with HMI guidelines and safety-critical UX principles

  • Strong user empathy and experience conducting direct customer discovery

  • Experience writing product requirements documents and owning roadmap planning

  • Prior software engineering experience

  • Python literacy (all PMs at Revel are expected to be comfortable reading and reasoning about Python)

  • Mission-driven mindset with strong ownership over outcomes

Plusses
  • Experience designing or managing interfaces for mission-critical or potentially dangerous systems

  • Experience working with hardware systems or embedded systems

  • Background in aerospace, defense, robotics, advanced manufacturing, energy, automotive, or similar industries

  • Experience at companies such as SpaceX, Blue Origin, Rocket Lab, defense primes, robotics companies, or industrial technology firms

  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar hardware-oriented environments

Team & Exposure

You will work alongside a dedicated dashboard team consisting of engineers and a designer. You will work directly with the Head of Product and CEO, gaining exposure to multiple industries operating high-stakes hardware systems.

Our customer feedback loops are tight — you’ll see directly how your decisions impact real-world operations.

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicants must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Why Revel
  • Work on software that directly controls critical real-world systems

  • Join a deeply technical team building next-generation hardware control infrastructure

  • High ownership and visibility

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity

  • Opportunity to define product standards in a space where clarity and correctness truly matter

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
