At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Content & Business Product organization sits at the center of how we acquire, develop, schedule, and launch content at scale. We build the tools and intelligence that help our creative and business teams make better decisions, faster.

In this role you will build products that power how Content teams at Netflix plans, acquires and schedules its content slate. Depending on team needs, that could include:

  • Scheduling and programming: optimizing when and how titles launch, so members get a steady drumbeat of great content.
  • Supporting the licensed slate: helping teams plan, track, and act on licensed content.
  • Content intelligence: bringing data and learnings to Content executives to inform high-stakes creative and business decisions, including early bets on AI-powered capabilities.

Across all of these, you will work at the intersection of content strategy, data, and product. Your users will be schedulers, programmers, and some of Netflix's most senior content and business leaders. You'll be curious, organized, and comfortable with ambiguity. You'll own workstreams end-to-end and deliver with rigor. You'll also develop a strategic lens on the space and help shape product direction over time.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to roadmap definition and execute against priorities that support content decision-making, from idea through validation, launch, measurement, and iteration.
  • Own specific product workstreams end-to-end, from discovery and requirements through delivery, seeking input from your manager and peers when needed.
  • Build a deep understanding of how Content teams work: their workflows, pain points, and the decisions they make every day.
  • Build tools that use data and insights as a complement to the expertise and intuition of executives.
  • Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements for engineering and design partners.
  • Partner with data science and analytics to surface meaningful signals and get insights to the right people at the right moment.
  • Contribute to AI-driven product bets, exploring how generative AI and intelligent workflows can reduce friction and surface insight for Content teams.
  • Drive adoption by working with operational teams on change management and rollout.
  • Write and present strategy memos, business cases, and stakeholder updates. Measure the impact of what you ship.
  • Take part in team planning rituals, including roadmap reviews, sprint planning, and stakeholder communications.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years of product management experience, with a track record of shipping products in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Solid analytical instincts. You can use data to form a point of view, pressure-test assumptions, and evaluate impact.
  • Strong execution skills. You move work forward, keep partners aligned, and deliver with quality under ambiguity.
  • Genuine curiosity about how creative and content decisions get made. Prior exposure to entertainment or content-driven businesses is a plus.
  • A healthy mix of technical knowledge and customer empathy. You can work with engineers and data scientists as well as creative executives and operations partners.
  • Experience turning complex analytical concepts into simple user experiences.
  • Clear written and verbal communication. You will write and present often, and you adapt your message from engineers to executives.
  • A collaborative, low-ego style, energized by working across functions toward a shared vision.
  • A bias toward action and comfort with problems that don't yet have clear solutions.
  • Working familiarity with generative AI and agentic workflows. Experience using AI tools to speed up discovery or ship AI-powered features is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building internal tools or enterprise products for knowledge workers (B2B, internal, or B2C backgrounds all welcome).
  • Familiarity with content scheduling, programming, acquisition, or licensing workflows in media or entertainment.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-native products and AI-based prototyping, especially for surfacing intelligence or automating workflows.
  • Experience in a fast-moving, high-trust environment where you're expected to use significant independent judgment.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
