About Right Side Up

Please note, this posting is to highlight joining Right Side Up's talent collective specifically and is not representing an internal full-time role, or a current opportunity with a client.

Right Side Up is a collective of premium marketing talent—with all of the marketing chops, and none of the agency fluff. We’re trusted by the most respected early-stage ventures, the fastest-growing tech companies, and well-established Fortune 500 teams to do one thing better: Growth. We have over 250+ clients including Stitch Fix, Sephora, Yelp, Sun Basket, Crunchbase, DoorDash, Calm, and more.

About the Role

We’re seeking freelance Senior Product Manager Consultants to join our talent collective and support a range of clients across industries. This role is highly execution-focused and ideal for product leaders who thrive in fast-moving environments, turning vision into shipped product.

Engagements may involve partnering closely with founders, executives, design, and engineering teams to bring products to launch readiness, improve core user flows, and drive rapid iteration. In some cases, strong performance can lead to longer-term or expanded scope opportunities. Contract engagements typically range from 10–40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

    • Drive execution of high-priority product initiatives from concept through launch

    • Own product requirements, prioritization, and sprint planning

    • Collaborate closely with design and engineering to deliver high-quality product experiences

    • Improve and optimize key user flows such as onboarding, core product interactions, and account experiences

    • Identify friction points and quickly implement solutions to improve usability and performance

    • Establish lightweight product processes and operating rhythms to support team efficiency

    • Leverage modern tools, including AI, to accelerate product discovery, documentation, and iteration

    • Maintain a high standard for product quality, simplicity, and user experience

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience in product management within fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Proven ability to ship product improvements quickly and effectively

  • Familiarity with AI tools and incorporating them into product workflows
  • Experience working on complex user flows, such as transactional or marketplace-based products

  • Comfortable operating in hands-on, execution-focused roles

  • Experience collaborating closely with design and engineering teams

  • Structured, pragmatic approach to problem-solving and prioritization

  • Ability to thrive in early-stage or ambiguous environments

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

    • Experience working directly with founders or executive teams

    • Experience in high-growth startup environments

    • Experience supporting both strategic planning and hands-on execution

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
