We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI.

We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. We like to work hard and move fast to do what’s best for our customers.

Product Management at Cohere:

Our team is responsible for shaping how Cohere’s technology reaches the world through our interfaces. We’ve launched cutting-edge generative models like Command A, Retrieval models like Embed 4 and Rerank 3.5, and end-to-end products like North and Compass. At Cohere, Product Managers work across the entire stack, from core models and APIs to complete solutions, serving both enterprises and developers.

We view PMs' roles at Cohere as “full-stack” in the sense that they will work with cross-functional stakeholders at every step of the way when training and evaluating the models, delivering the product, and ensuring successful GTM and customer happiness.

About The Automation and Workflows Role:

As the industry continues to evolve, one of the chief emerging areas of focus will be understanding how AI and agents will change the way we work. This PM will focus on the entire stack, partnering with various cross-functional teams such as modelling, engineering, and design.

In this role, you will:
  • Define the product roadmap for improving intelligent workflows and automations within our enterprise solution, North.

  • Define and execute the product vision for a generalized automation builder and the necessary areas of specialization for verticals (e.g., healthcare, financial services, sales) as well as workflow integration capabilities.

  • Build rapid prototypes and experimental features to validate new AI concepts before committing to development.

  • Use data and customer engagements to better understand user needs and guide future product and model development.

  • Define APIs and integration patterns that enable workflow creation and automation.

  • Develop standards for quality assurance and performance monitoring across workflows and automations.

  • Partner with design, applied AI, research, and engineering to balance visionary thinking with pragmatic execution by gathering early user feedback, measuring impact, and iterating quickly to bring transformative capabilities to market.

  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including teams in modelling, applied ML, product, finance, go-to-market, engineering, and marketing.

In order to be successful in this role, you have:
  • At least 4+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record in B2B/enterprise software.

  • Experience with building AI/ML-powered products, automation platforms, integration services or developer platforms.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

  • Have proven experience working in a technical environment with cross-functional teams to drive product vision, define requirements, and guide the team through key milestones.

  • Showcase strong leadership, organizational, and execution skills, along with proven communication abilities.

  • Obtained a Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in CS, ML or related field, or a background in machine learning, algorithms, large-scale systems, and statistics.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in workflow automation or business process management.

  • Familiarity with enterprise compliance and security requirements.

If some of the above doesn’t line up perfectly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply! If you want to work really hard on a glorious mission with teammates that want the same thing, Cohere is the place for you.

We value and celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive work environment for all. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
