At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

Our Team:

The Ads Platform team builds the advertising systems and integrations that power the delivery of ads using our world class content delivery ecosystem. We deliver ads in a manner that’s thoughtful of our members’ viewing experience and drives great outcomes for advertisers.

Our team is new and yet faced with the ambitions of building highly performant advertising systems and delivering high impact to our business by monetizing our incredible slate of content. As one of the newest entrants in the Connected TV advertising space that’s rapidly growing, we seek to build unique value propositions that differentiate Netflix from other ad-supported streaming services.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager in the advertising space who is excited to join us on this journey.

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Product Manager to own the vision, strategy, and execution of our Ads Targeting Platform that structures, surfaces, and activates audience and contextual signals across forecasting, media planning, and advertiser sales. This is a highly visible, high-ownership role that requires both deep technical fluency and sharp commercial instincts. You will set the long-term direction for how targeting signals are architected, governed, and consumed by partner teams, while driving near-term delivery against a complex, multi-stakeholder roadmap. You will be the connective tissue between sales, GTM, engineering, and data science; translating advertiser market demands into durable platform capabilities and ensuring our targeting infrastructure is a genuine competitive differentiator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and Own the Platform Vision: Set the long-term strategic direction for the Ads Targeting Platform, establishing a clear and compelling vision for how audience signals, contextual signals, and data taxonomies come together to power advertiser outcomes at scale.

  • Drive Roadmap and Strategy: Lead roadmap prioritization across a complex landscape of partner needs, technical dependencies, and business objectives — making sharp tradeoffs and building organizational alignment around a coherent, ambitious product strategy.

  • Architect for Scale: Partner deeply with engineering and data science to make foundational decisions about signal ingestion, normalization, taxonomy design, and data storage — ensuring the platform is built to scale with the business and adapt to a rapidly evolving targeting landscape.

  • Elevate the Advertiser Sales Cycle: Bring authoritative knowledge of how enterprise advertisers and agencies plan, buy, and measure media. Ensure the platform anticipates and supports the full sales cycle, from early forecasting and media planning through campaign activation and optimization, and that sales teams are equipped to position our targeting capabilities with confidence.

  • Lead Cross-Functional Alignment: Operate as a senior leader across sales, ad operations, GTM, data engineering, and partner teams. Drive alignment on priorities, resolve competing demands, and champion the platform's roadmap at the executive level.

  • Champion Signal Quality and Data Governance: Own the standards for how targeting signals are defined, classified, and maintained across the platform. Establish governance frameworks that ensure data quality, commercial relevance, and compliance with evolving advertising regulations.

  • Shape GTM Strategy: Partner with sales and marketing leadership to define how targeting capabilities are packaged, positioned, and brought to market; influencing how advertisers perceive and purchase our targeting products.

  • Communicate Vision at All Levels: Influence without authority across a large, matrixed organization. Articulate a clear and inspiring product narrative to engineers, executives, and commercial partners alike.

We're seeking a candidate who has:

  • 10+ years of Product Management experience, with significant tenure owning ad tech platforms at scale, including targeting infrastructure, signal management, or audience data platforms.

  • A proven track record of setting product vision and delivering against it in complex, multi-stakeholder environments with high organizational visibility.

  • Expert-level understanding of the advertising ecosystem, including DSP platforms, programmatic buying, audience and contextual targeting, CTV advertising, and how enterprise advertisers and agencies approach media planning and investment.

  • Deep experience with data taxonomies, signal classification, and audience data infrastructure — with strong opinions about how targeting data should be structured to serve both technical and commercial needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to make foundational architectural decisions in partnership with engineering and data science, with fluency in ad serving systems, SSPs, DSPs, APIs, and integration frameworks.

  • Strong UX leadership experience, with a track record of delivering interfaces and workflows that make sophisticated data accessible and actionable for sales, media planning, and operations teams.

  • Executive-level communication skills and the ability to build alignment across engineering, sales, GTM, legal, and data teams in a fast-moving environment.

  • Familiarity with advertising data governance, privacy regulations, and the evolving global landscape of targeting compliance.

  • A bias for impact and a track record of shipping, comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving clarity where none exists.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
