Summary

We’re seeking a mission-driven Product Lead to own the product lifecycle for clinical test products that serve the patients of geneticists, general pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, and more. This person will identify and create solutions that ensure our rare disease diagnostic tests meet business and market fit, while working seamlessly within existing customer workflows. You’ll translate strategy into scalable programs and initiatives that deliver clarity, ease, and clinical value.

You will be responsible for ensuring these test products are optimized for customer acquisition, retention and expansion, while meeting critical operational, clinical, and regulatory requirements. Through all stages of care (ordering, fulfillment, and results delivery), clinical products must deliver both function and clarity for a wide variety of patient care scenarios.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the product strategy, roadmap, and multi-quarter programs for clinical test products within the Genomics solution suite.
  • Translate strategy into actionable features and services that drive product line performance (including revenue, diagnostic yield, turnaround time, and cost) across ordering, fulfillment, and results access.
  • Lead cross-functional planning and execution across Product, Commercial, Medical Affairs, R&D, and Engineering.
  • Deeply understand customer and internal user needs through research, interviews, and observation— becoming a subject matter expert on the dynamics between patient, provider, and payer.
  • Partner closely with Product Owners to scope and deliver solutions via scrum teams. Deliverables may include: product requirements documents (PRD), product strategy decks, MVP plans, business cases, success measurement plans, etc.
  • Define and monitor product KPIs.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • 6+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years in diagnostic testing applications
  • Deep understanding of healthcare provider workflows; experience with test ordering and interpretation tools preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills paired with excellent execution and attention to detail.
  • Deep empathy for end users—providers, enterprise customers, patients, and caregivers— and a commitment to making their experience simpler, faster, and more empowering.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, digital transformation, human-centered design, and modern product discovery/delivery practices.
  • A sense of ownership, humility, and mission-driven motivation to improve lives through better healthcare.

SEQUENCING HAS THE POWER TO SOLVE DIAGNOSTIC CHALLENGES.

From sequencing to reporting and beyond, our technical and clinical experts are providing guidance every step of the way:

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  • High-quality testing: Our laboratory is CLIA certified and CAP accredited and most of our tests are also New York State approved.
  • Advanced detection: By interrogating genes for complex variants, we can identify the underlying causes of conditions that may otherwise be missed.

CLINICAL EXPERTISE

  • Thorough analysis: We classify variants according to our custom adaptation of the most recent guidelines. We then leverage our rich internal database for additional interpretation evidence.
  • Customized care: Our experts review all test results and write reports in a clear, concise, and personalized way. We also include information for research studies in specific clinical situations.
  • Impactful discovery: Our researchers continue working to find answers even after testing is complete. Through both internal research efforts and global collaborations, we have identified and published hundreds of new disease-gene relationships and developed novel tools for genomic data analysis. These efforts ultimately deliver more diagnostic findings to individuals.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
