Product Engineer, Customer Team

Your role

As a Product Engineer on the Customer team, you’ll work across engineering, customer success, and product to help the best teams in crypto succeed with Turnkey. You’ll identify where developers are getting stuck and step in to fix it. That could mean writing code, debugging tricky edge cases, or advocating for product improvements that smooth the path for everyone who comes next.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role that blends technical depth with customer context. It’s a great fit for a strong generalist engineer early in their career who wants to move fast, ship real improvements, work alongside one of the strongest technical teams in crypto, and build a deep understanding of how great products and developer experiences are built.

Over time, this role could evolve into a position on the core engineering team, a product management role, or a leadership path within the customer organization.

What you’ll do
  • Solve high-signal customer challenges — everything from confusing integration blockers to debugging real edge-case issues in production

  • Embed with top customers to guide implementation and serve as a technical thought partner

  • Collaborate closely with our engineering and product teams to feed in product improvements, bug reports, and feature ideas

  • Build example code, scripts, and tools that make common workflows easier

  • Help build internal tooling and workflows to scale how we support developers

  • Be the connective tissue between the problems customers face and the product we build

What we’re looking for
  • 1–3 years of engineering experience

  • Strong with Typescript and React; familiarity with React Native

  • A generalist mindset: you can learn new systems quickly and debug anything from browser quirks to backend edge cases

  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to jump on a call, share your screen, or write clear docs to unblock someone

  • Serious ambition. You want to grow fast, own more, and you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get there

Style points
  • Interest in crypto, even if you don’t have experience yet

  • Very high fluency with AI tools and LLMs in technical environments

  • Experience dropping into unfamiliar codebases and working across multiple languages and stacks

  • Product-minded approach to engineering, focused on solving real problems

  • Strong opinions about developer experience

What We Offer
  • Full benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, 401(k) - detailed benefits overview available as we get further in the process

  • Paid parental leave

  • Unlimited PTO (and we will force you to take time off!)

  • $3,000/yr learning and development budget to attend industry conferences

  • Multiple team offsites per year

  • Macbook Pro laptop

  • Lunch stipend (for those physically in the New York City office)

Please note that while the team is remote, we are only considering candidates who are physically based in the United States with a strong preference for those that can be onsite in the New York City HQ.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
