However, when it comes to the back-office, most farms are decades behind, relying on spreadsheets, filing cabinets, and decades-old on-prem software to recruit, manage, and pay their workforce. Seso is addressing this problem by modernizing the back-office for the farm.
Our mission is to build the premier platform for agribusiness to hire and manage their workforce and improve the lives of agricultural workers. We are addressing American farmers’ biggest pain point - access to qualified labor - through a software-enabled labor solution that automates the H-2A visa. Our comprehensive HR platform streamlines and automates the hiring process for farms and seamlessly integrates their efforts across recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and insurance while providing workers access to financial services for the first time.

About the Role
While Seso is a few years old, we are rapidly transforming into our next iteration. We are looking for a product designer with a founding designer’s skillset and tenacity to help build the next version of the definitive labor platform for the agriculture industry. As our sole designer, you'll have an outsized impact on our product development & user experience. You'll be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from early customer research and brainstorming to final pixel polish and QA. You'll work closely with product and engineering teams. We have a strong culture of building quickly and iteratively, and deploying features to staging and production multiple times a day. You will have an unparalleled opportunity for ownership and will be expected to get deep with our customers and business to help us shape our priorities, not just execute them.
Responsibilities
- Shape the design process at Seso and advocate for our users across experiences
- Take broad conceptual ideas and turn them into delightful solutions
- Bring your ideas to life through brainstorming, sketching, prototyping, and high-fidelity mocks
- Design the end-to-end experience for features within your product area and outside
- Work in a highly collaborative environment with design, product, and engineering teams
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, and Operations to uncover user insights
- Directly interface with users to conduct research and validate your designs
Skillset
Our ideal candidate will have 7+ years of product design experience, and can additionally demonstrate the following:
- Ability to understand the business impact of design decisions and drive meaningful product value
- You care deeply about customers and enjoy/have experience speaking with them directly to understand their pain points
- Can translate user pain points uncovered in research into innovative/intuitive/easy to-use workflows without oversimplifying/sacrificing trust
- Deliver on all aspects of UI/UX design, from strategy to execution
- Ability to plan, manage, and drive projects from beginning to end
- Attention to detail with strong visual skills and understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
- Experience working with an established design system, and excited to grab the wheel of that system, find where it’s breaking, and push it forward
- Proficient with modern design tools (we use Figma)
