ABOUT NOCKLO

Our mission is to uplift small businesses and their people (half the U.S. workforce!) in an increasingly uncertain world. We combine AI/ML with aerospace-grade simulation techniques to deliver a decision intelligence platform that guides people on how to ensure the business, and its people, survive and thrive.

THE ROLE
We’re hiring a UX Product Designer to own end-to-end design at Nocklo—from wireframes to polished UI to design systems. You’ll work closely with the CEO and Product team to shape user experiences for complex, data-rich workflows. This is a high-ownership role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, early-stage environments.

YOU WILL

  • Lead the end-to-end design strategy, driving the UX process from ideation through implementation with a design-led, experimentation-driven mindset

  • Translate product concepts into wireframes, prototypes, information architecture, and high-fidelity mockups ready for engineering handoff

  • Build a foundational design system from scratch with scalable components and usage guidelines

  • Craft (or develop) information architecture that supports product growth and complexity

  • Accelerate design iteration cycles through fast feedback loops

  • Streamline the design review process for greater efficiency

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years proven experience in product design, particularly for web interfaces

  • Experience designing data-heavy interfaces & dashboards

  • Proficiency with Figma

  • Experience working in a small team environment

  • Passionate about shaping the design vision & user experience for new products

  • Excited about establishing the foundation & scaling design systems in early-stage startup environments

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

  • Previous 0 to 1 or founding designer experience

  • Previous experience designing AI-driven products

  • Previous experience working within fintech industry

PERKS

  • Full Medical/Dental/Vision + 401(k)

  • Unlimited PTO + flexible work hours & location (we're remote first)

  • Opportunity to play a foundational role at a well-funded startup with major clients

  • Work with people like yourself—talented and thoughtful; passionate about solving challenging problems

LOCATION

The role is U.S. (Remote) though our Product team is based in Boston. Slight pref for local for periodic in-person meetings but we can definitely make a fully remote role work for the right person.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or veteran status.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
