The Product Designer is responsible for daily execution of product design and development of products for the Pin Trading category from concept through production. You’ll collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure we have the highest quality, consumer focused, trend-right product lines across all channels of distribution that build brand equity and meet financial targets.

You will report to the Assistant Manager - Mickey's of Glendale Product Development.

This is a Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.

What You Will Do:

  • Support the design and development of trading and collectible products from concept through production

  • Own the product development lifecycle including ideation, research, sourcing, costing, production, and commercialization

  • Develop trend-right product assortments aligned with brand strategy and financial targets

  • Monitor competitors, product innovations, and market trends to inform design decisions

  • Partner with sourcing teams and vendors to ensure alignment with The Walt Disney Company and Walt Disney Imagineering standards

  • Collaborate with internal partners including Legal, Business Affairs, and Product Integrity to gain product approvals

  • Maintain development timelines, milestone tracking, and approvals throughout the lifecycle

  • Create and maintain product data in FLEX (PLM) systems with accuracy and timeliness

  • Support preparation of presentation materials and product packages

  • Actively support securing company assets through effective Loss Prevention, in compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Promote a safe, compliant, and collaborative working environment while adhering to company policies

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in product design and development, production scheduling, or project coordination

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively within deadlines

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners

  • Strong communication skills with ability to present ideas and incorporate feedback

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy retail or product development environment

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Prior experience with The Walt Disney Company brands (Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, 20th Century, National Geographic)

  • Background with graphic design, animation or character development

  • Experience with PLM systems such as FLEX

  • Experience in hardlines/softlines consumer products design and development

  • Strong understanding of retail trends and product commercialization

Education:

  • Associate degree or equivalent required

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, California is $65,300 - $87,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
