This role will support feature development while driving visual design to ensure elegant, easy to use experiences for consumers, merchants and internal users. As a product designer you will also lead stakeholders and product partners with your visual design expertise, user experience guidance, and user research to deliver high-fidelity, production ready design solutions on time in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Drive/Enhance/Support Visual Design: Create polished, dev-ready Figma design deliverables for end-to-end experiences that demonstrate all requirements for a defined workflow while seeking to enhance the user experience at every touchpoint.
- Own Feature Outcomes: Take ownership of assigned product features and user flows, translating high-level requirements into intuitive, functional visual design deliverables (wireframes, designs, and prototypes) in Figma, leveraging our design system.
- Collaborative Execution: Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering and stakeholders to deliver persona-first, data-driven solutions while you navigate technical constraints and business goals in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Design with Data: Leverage user research, analytics, and feedback to iterate on designs and advocate for the best user experience for each feature and flow.
- Accelerate with AI: Leverage modern AI-assisted tools (e.g., Figma Make, Claude, or research synthesis tools) to automate repetitive tasks and rapidly prototype high-fidelity explorations.
- Contribute to the Design System: Actively use and contribute to the Extend Design System, ensuring your work is scalable and maintains visual consistency and design excellence across the platform.
- Refine the Craft: Participate in design reviews and critiques, providing constructive feedback to peers and helping to elevate the team’s overall output and design excellence.
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in product design, with a portfolio showcasing shipped work in consumer or B2B software.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, CS, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience showing a strong grasp of design fundamentals and user-centered methodology.
- Core Competency: We need a designer who delivers more than just wireframes. You should have a portfolio that demonstrates high-fidelity mastery—specifically in typography, grid systems, and layout. You can translate complex requirements into polished, production-ready Figma files that are as aesthetically "finished" as they are functional.
- Systems Thinking: The ability to work within an established design system while identifying opportunities to improve or expand components for the team.
- Communication: A clear communicator who can explain the "why" behind design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
- Figma Mastery: Advanced expertise in Figma (auto-layout, components, variables) to maintain visual consistency and build high-fidelity prototypes that feel like the real product.
- Technical Literacy: A solid understanding of how designs are implemented in code (HTML/CSS/React basics) to ensure feasible handoffs.
- Retail & E-commerce Fluency: Prior experience designing for merchant dashboards, checkout flows, or post-purchase experiences.
- Design System Contribution: Experience managing or evolving a shared component library in Figma (e.g., documenting guidelines or building complex variants).
- Fintech Curiosity: An understanding of the complexities of financial transactions, fraud prevention, or insurance tech.
Expected Pay Range: $111,000 - $129,000 per year salaried*
