About the role
This role can be located in the following countries: US, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, or Colombia.
We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Product Designer to join our team. If you're excited about shaping the future of workforce upskilling — by designing thoughtful, AI-powered experiences that make complex tasks feel intuitive — this could be your next great adventure!

At Workera, we believe design is central to building exceptional products. You’ll partner closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to craft interfaces that are not only visually compelling, but also rooted in user needs, data insights, and strategic priorities.

To support this, we work in small, nimble project teams (2–3 people) using the ShapeUp methodology. Each team spends six weeks deeply focused on solving a specific business problem. As the designer on your team, you’ll help shape the problem space, wireframe and prototype solutions, and bring interfaces to life — all while championing the voice of the user.

You’ll also serve as a key thought partner to product and engineering leads, helping to balance functionality with simplicity, and ensuring our AI-native platform feels both powerful and human-centered.

About your team
We're looking for a Product Designer to lead the design of admin and analytics experiences that power our skill development platform. You'll focus on creating intuitive workflows for program creation, user enrollment, license management, and HR tech integrations (e.g., Workday). You'll also design analytics tools that surface insights like skill readiness, program progress, and employee engagement. This role requires strong systems thinking, attention to detail, and a passion for making complex data and admin tasks simple and actionable.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product direction.
  • Collaborate with a product manager and engineering manager to conduct research into customer goals and challenges.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to validate design decisions, and contribute to a library of insights to evangelize customer needs across the org.
  • Shape customer problems and opportunities by refining insights and wireframing new experiences; rapidly iterate via low-fidelity prototypes.
  • Partner closely with engineers to evolve solutions from rough concepts to polished, high-fidelity interfaces and experiences.
  • Experiment with the latest generative AI technologies to design intuitive experiences that make the most of Workera’s AI-native capabilities.
  • Design agentic AI workflows that balance automation with user control—ensuring AI output is observable, correctable, and aligned with human goals.
  • Collaborate with product design teammates to ensure a consistent, quality experience across the platform.
  • Use, contribute to, and help evolve Workera’s design system and visual language.

*Please note as we are a dynamic and quickly growing scale-up, things are always subject to change*

What You’ll Bring

  • 2-5 years designing digital products (UX + UI)
  • Experience designing SaaS solutions
  • Experience with design systems and strong system-level thinking
  • Ability to design simple solutions to complex user problems
  • Humility and willingness to act on design feedback in an iterative process
  • Proficiency in utilizing AI tools such as ChatGPT or equivalent digital assistants and applying them effectively within your work context.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with the corporate skills development industry
  • Understanding or experience with designing human-in-the-loop or AI agent interfaces

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
