About the Show

While episodes are recorded (not streamed live), callers join live on video—requiring tight production, strong judgment, and thoughtful caller management to ensure emotionally safe, high-quality conversations.

Role Overview

The Part-Time Podcast Producer is responsible for overseeing the production and execution of Love Theory episodes, with a focus on caller coordination, recording operations, and show flow. You’ll manage the behind-the-scenes mechanics while sensitive, unscripted conversations happen in real time.

You are the person making sure everything feels calm, intentional, and professional—even when the content itself is raw.

RequirementsKey Responsibilities

Recording Session Production

  • Run end-to-end episode recordings, including technical setup, recording management, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage live video callers during recordings: onboarding, audio/video checks, and transitions.
  • Maintain pacing and structure during recorded sessions without interrupting hosts.
  • Monitor recordings to ensure clean audio, stable video, and proper captures.

Caller & Content Management

  • Work with the Social Media Team on caller submissions CTA.
  • Pre-screen callers for relevance, clarity, and appropriateness.
  • Prepare callers before recording so they understand expectations and boundaries.
  • Flag sensitive or high-risk topics in advance for host awareness.
  • Support a psychologically safe experience for callers while protecting the show and brand.

Pre- & Post-Production

  • Coordinate run-of-show outlines, segments, and episode logistics.
  • Work with Operations to ensure releases are signed and returned by callers.
  • Ensure recordings are properly captured, backed up, and delivered to post-production.
  • Provide post-session notes (key moments, issues, clip opportunities).
  • Assist with scheduling and light booking coordination as needed.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain consistency with Impact Theory production standards.
  • Anticipate issues before they occur—technical, logistical, or emotional.
  • Collaborate with internal content, social, and post-production teams.
Qualifications

Must-Have Experience

  • 2+ years experience producing podcasts, recorded talk shows or live-streamed shows.
  • Direct experience with live call-in formats (radio, podcasts, YouTube, Twitch, etc.).
  • Experience managing live remote guests or call-in formats.
  • Familiarity with recording tools, remote video platforms, and audio best practices.
  • Excellent communication and judgment in sensitive situations.
  • Availability during scheduled recording times.

Preferred

  • Background in relationship, mental health, or coaching content.
  • Experience with community-driven shows.
  • Strong editorial instincts for clip-worthy moments.
  • Familiarity with Impact Theory content and audience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
