The Producer for broadcast and streaming splits their time between producing our legacy daily newscast and producing on our emerging streaming platform.

The person who gets this job will be devoted to enthusiastically building our streaming channel by creating multiple shows per week.

  • Collegiality: Recognizes and practices teamwork and cooperation as a core value.
  • Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
  • Writes and orders news stories
  • Approves scripts
  • Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
  • Edits video
  • Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms
  • Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 Requirements & Skills:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

  • Fluency in English grammar
  • Complete understanding of current events and news.
  • Complete understanding and compliance with journalism ethics
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Flexibility to work any shift
  • Salary: $18.25 to $19.25 per hour
