Key Responsibilities
Project Procurement Support
- Support the development and execution of procurement strategies aligned with project objectives, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage procurement activities for assigned project packages and equipment categories.
- Coordinate procurement schedules to support project milestones and construction requirements.
- Track procurement progress and provide regular status updates to project stakeholders.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier identification, RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluations, negotiations, and purchase order or contract award.
- Conduct commercial evaluations and support supplier selection decisions.
- Assist in negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, warranties, and commercial terms.
- Work closely with Legal and Project teams in contract preparation and administration.
Support procurement activities for project-related packages, including:
- Process plant equipment
- Mechanical equipment and systems
- Electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Structural steel and fabricated components
- Construction and installation services
- Utilities and infrastructure-related materials
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure technical specifications are accurately incorporated into procurement packages.
- Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules to minimize project risks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Support supplier qualification and evaluation processes.
- Participate in supplier meetings, progress reviews, and issue resolution activities.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement priorities align with project needs.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and value improvement through competitive sourcing and commercial negotiations.
- Monitor procurement commitments against approved budgets.
- Assist in identifying procurement and supply chain risks and support mitigation planning.
- Support contract administration, change order management, and supplier claims resolution.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, and contract files.
- Prepare procurement reports, tracking logs, and supporting documentation for audits and management reviews.
- Support compliance with applicable regulatory and contractual requirements.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, PMP, or equivalent are a plus.
- 5–10 years of procurement, sourcing, or contract management experience.
- Experience supporting capital projects, industrial construction projects, or manufacturing operations preferred.
- Exposure to industries such as steel, mining, metals, energy, manufacturing, EPC, or heavy industrial sectors is desirable.
- Experience managing supplier negotiations, purchase orders, and service contracts.
- Understanding of procurement processes, sourcing methodologies, and contract administration.
- Familiarity with construction, EPC, or industrial project procurement environments.
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement software (SAP preferred).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
