Role Description: 

The Procurement Manager will oversee strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives across ShipBob’s global operations. This role is pivotal in delivering cost optimization, supplier performance, and process scalability to support ShipBob’s rapid growth. This person will work closely with key stakeholders (both internal and external) to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.  This role reports to the Sr. Director, Procurement. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Build solid partnerships across all business units to identify and prioritize sourcing opportunities and projects.  
  • Steer cross-functional sourcing efforts and execute plans that align with business objectives. 
  • Provide data-driven insights, market intelligence, and feedback to influence sourcing strategies and vendor engagements. 
  • Advise all business units on best methods to achieve desired sourcing outcomes, with ability to clearly understand and articulate needs and successful outcomes. 
  • Actively seek to improve procurement processes for agility and scalability. 
  • Oversee change management initiatives required to implement process improvements effectively.  
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring optimal ongoing costs, service levels, long term value and risk mitigation. 
  • Review, redline, and negotiate contractual agreements across all categories ensuring favorable terms and mitigating unnecessary risks.  
  • Develop RFx documentation and plans and oversee assessment and selection as a result of comprehensive analysis, including in some cases build vs buy decisions. 
  • Work with compliance teams for ShipBob’s SOX, GMP, GFSI, SOC II and other regulatory requirements.  
  • Use data analytics, industry benchmarking and strategic sourcing methodologies to develop and execute sourcing strategies and identify savings and/or value adding opportunities. 
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.  

What you’ll bring to the table: 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Indirect Procurement, ideally within a fast-moving startup environment and across multiple categories. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field. 
  • High EQ and interpersonal skills. An expert communicator who can span various stakeholder skillsets and backgrounds to clearly articulate needs to manage projects to successful outcomes. 
  • Demonstrated track record of cost savings and driving procurement innovation and change. 
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment and manage ambiguity. 
  • Solid problem solving, analytical and project management skills, with ability to run multiple projects simultaneously in complex situations. 
  • Sound negotiation skills. 
  • Excellent English communication, both written and oral. 
  • Ability to cover core US hours, with a deep understanding of US market dynamics, contract terms, cost structures and supplier landscape. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with P2P platforms such as ZipHQ preferred.

ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. The full base pay range for this position in our compensation architecture is $99,150 - $165,250. In addition to base salary, this role includes the opportunity to be eligible for participation in the Company's discretionary bonus plan based on Company's plans and in accordance with Company’s policies.
