About Us:

We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.

We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like OpenAI, Toyota, Figma, Ramp, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.

Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).

About The Role:

As a Procurement team, we aim to greatly enhance Notion’s long term profitability and support sustainable growth while managing risks effectively. We do this by reinforcing and supporting our company strategic goals and values by securing the best possible value for our stakeholders while collaborating closely with our partners in Legal to develop effective risk management strategies at scale. As an early member of the Procurement team, you will own and manage our Contract Management and Administration process across multiple sourcing categories (Engineering, Go To Market etc.) and have real ownership and impact in a fast pace and dynamic environment.

This role includes collaborating closely with our Legal partners, managing a high volume of inbound vendor contracts across the company, and supporting our Sourcing Managers to secure the best outcomes possible with our vendors. The position also involves overseeing the review and approval of contracts and will operate in a time-sensitive environment, often under tight deadlines. We are looking for someone who can prioritize in a high-transaction environment and respond effectively when working with stakeholders, vendors, and Notion legal teams.

What You'll Achieve:
  • Develop and manage pipeline of upcoming new and renewal contracts, aligning with the Strategic Sourcing team and flagging reviews or re-reviews as needed to Sourcing and Legal teams.
  • Respond to legal requests from stakeholders, summarizing and communicating legal concepts per Notion Legal’s playbook.
  • Prepare, redline and manage a high volume of vendor contracts, including Services agreements, Statements of Work, Amendments, and related legal agreements.
  • Work closely with our Legal partners to develop and implement contract management procedures and policies that streamline processes and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Go To Market etc.) to solve problems, build partnerships, and close deals quickly.
  • Liaise with business partners to understand project goals, ensuring project descriptions and requirements are accurately reflected in contracts
  • Be a business partner to the business, not just a Contracts Manager!
Skills You'll Need to Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience working as a contracts manager or paralegal in a large law firm, or in-house.
  • 2+ years of experience in the SaaS industry and/or Procurement related contracts
  • Experience in project-managing Sourcing and or Legal related organizational projects and familiar with best in class Source-to-Contract practices.
  • Experience following Legal playbooks and from there independently drafting, negotiating and executing vendor contracts such as Master Agreements, Amendments, Order Forms and Statements of Work.
  • Comfort and experience with technology solutions that help scale CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management)
  • Excellent judgement, analytical rigor, clear communication, and business pragmatism.
Nice to Haves:
  • Experience using Procurement (ZIP, SCOUT, COUPA, Oracle, etc.) and CLM Tools (Iron Clad, Panda Doc, Coupa etc.)
  • Masters Degree in a technical or business related field

We hire talented and passionate people from a variety of backgrounds because we want our global employee base to represent the wide diversity of our customers. If you’re excited about a role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every bullet point listed in the job description, we still encourage you to apply. If you’re a builder at heart, share our company values, and enthusiastic about making software toolmaking ubiquitous, we want to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
