What To Expect:

As a Process Quality Engineer (QE) on a 6-month contract, you will be key in documenting and standardizing manufacturing processes, specifically for actuators, valves, and other electromechanical assemblies. Your work will help streamline operations and ensure clarity and consistency in manufacturing tasks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, create accurate work instructions, and identify areas for process improvement.

What You'll Do:

  • Create Work Instructions: Develop clear and detailed work instructions for manufacturing processes, specifically focusing on actuators, valves, and electromechanical assemblies, utilizing Excel and PowerPoint to document both text and images.
  • Understand Manufacturing Processes: Gain a thorough understanding of the processes involved and translate them into easily actionable, precise instructions that will guide production teams.
  • Collaborate with Production Teams: Work closely with various production teams to ensure that work instructions reflect best practices and offer clear guidance on task execution.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and help implement changes that enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Be a Communication Bridge: Communicate effectively with all levels of production personnel to ensure instructions are clear and that any issues are addressed promptly.

What You Need:

  • Manufacturing Experience: 5 plus years in Aerospace or Manufacturing experience. Strong background in manufacturing processes, particularly with electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Electro-Mechanical Assembly Experience: Bonus if you have worked with actuators, valves, and switches in a manufacturing or quality assurance capacity.
  • Microsoft Suite Proficiency: Comfort and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., to create, edit, and present work instructions and documentation.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to document manufacturing processes meticulously, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all work instructions.
  • Collaborative & Personable: Strong interpersonal skills to engage with production teams, ask questions, and ensure alignment between work instructions and actual practices.
  • Proactive Mindset: Ability to take initiative, seek out information, and resolve challenges independently while contributing to overall process improvements.

  • Preferred but Not Required:
  • Commodity Experience: Experience with commodity processes with actuators and valves is a plus, though not essential for this position.
  • Quality Engineering (QE) Background: A general understanding of quality engineering processes is beneficial but not required for this role.

If you are an experienced manufacturing professional with strong documentation skills, a background in electro-mechanical assemblies, and a proactive attitude, we encourage you to apply and help shape the future of our manufacturing processes.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
