The Process Engineer at the Los Angeles Epoxies Plant plays a key role in driving process safety, operational reliability, and continuous improvement across production operations.
The plant manufactures over 200 specialty Amine products, Epoxy hardeners, and related products using four batch reactors operating 24/7.
This position supports production, technology, maintenance, supply chain, and asset management teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities including MOC, PSSR, incident investigations, and hazard reviews.
  • Maintain and update process safety documentation and assist with mechanical integrity programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance cycle time, product quality, and mechanical reliability.
  • Optimize production scheduling and batch operations to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Lead New Product Introductions (NPIs) with R&D and corporate engineering — develop procedures and train operators.
  • Manage and execute small to mid-scale capital projects, ensuring alignment with safety and performance goals.
  • Provide real-time engineering support, including participation in the on-call rotation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to strengthen plant reliability and operational excellence.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to internal and regulatory standards.
     

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant process or chemical manufacturing experience.
  • Proven leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Experience managing capital projects from concept to completion.
  • Demonstrated success driving operational excellence and process optimization.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and serve as a technical subject matter expert.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introductions (NPIs) and technology transfer.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis, preventive maintenance, and reliability improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Summary Compensation & Benefits:​
    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).​
    Pay Range: $88,500 - $147,400.​
