Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Process Engineering Manager, coordinates and directs engineering, sustaining, and continuous improvement activities focused on photolithography and process integration. Defines processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, and applies processing techniques and methods to manufacture, and evaluate III-V semiconductor devices. Provides sustaining and continuous improvement engineering support and ownership. The selected candidate will work with a team of technicians, peer engineers, maintenance/equipment personnel, and operations management.

Detailed Description:

  • Strong understanding of photolithography principles, equipment operation, data analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and design of experiments (DOE/ANOVA).
  • Hands on experience with i-line and DUV spin coat systems, photoresist & developer chemistry, chemical delivery systems, metal lift-off processes, image reversal, resist strip, plasma ashing, CDSEM, and overlay tools.
    • Operate photolithography module equipment: coat/develop tracks (TEL ACT8, RiteTrack, Solar Semi, SUSS, or similar), steppers (ASML/GCA or equivalent), and applicable metrology tools. 
    • Partner with internal maintenance or outside vendors to ensure equipment availability for production and development.
  • Hands on familiarity w/ optical microscopy, surface profiling (interferometry, AFM, or similar), ellipsometry, , SEM/FIB, SIMS/XPS, and film stress.
  • Develop new or improve existing photolithography processes to meet product specifications.
    • Oversee reticle design & qualifications for production release.
    • Design, execute, and status production and development experiments. Present technical findings to key stakeholders. Formal DOE creation, execution, and analysis is a plus.
  • Develop and implement process qualifications, train technicians, and ensure process safety. 
  • Responsible for strong documentation and ownership of module (process and equipment): work instructions, job aids, training/certification, and production/operational standards.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support and continuous yield improvement in cleanroom or controlled environment, preferably in both production and R&D settings.
  • Apply structured problem solving (Kepner Tregoe, DMAIC, 8D, or other) to address process/equipment excursions, capacity constraints, and yield improvement.
  • Experience using MES systems in a medium volume, high mix, semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Practical understanding of material/chemical safety data and ability to follow safety protocols & regulations.
  • Work w/ external vendors to specify, evaluate, and justify capital processing and metrology equipment. Facilitate gated release into production.

Requirements

  • B.S. or equivalent in a science or a related field, M.S. preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Min. 2 years of direct hands on lithography processing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cleanroom environment wearing full coverall garments for extended periods.

Salary Range:

$90,800.00-$121,100.000
