Cooley is seeking a Pro Bono Analytics Specialist to join the Pro Bono team.

Position summary: Under the direction of the Pro Bono Partner/Head of Social Impact and Sustainability, this role will oversee and analyze a broad array of quantitative and qualitative pro bono and social impact data assets to compile analyses and develop reports to manage the pro bono practice, answer client requests, make broad business impact and shape pro bono and social impact strategy.  Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position responsibilities:

  • Maintain key data assets related to pro bono and social impact data
  • Produce regular reports, infographics, and presentations involving pro bono and social impact data 
  • Lead processing and completing pro bono and social impact data requests, questionnaires and reports from both internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop new reports and infographics that will enhance management of the practice
  • Work with accounting and other firm departments to address data questions and inconsistencies
  • Serve as the department point person and liaise with the marketing department to complete all pro bono & SIS data components of client-issued requests and RFPs
  • Collaborate with marketing department on data collection and reporting for external certifications and surveys
  • Utilize benchmarking tools to monitor Cooley’s progress 
  • Proactively build relationships with different stakeholders across the firm
  • All other duties as assigned or required

Skills and experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Available to work overtime, as required
  • 3+ years direct applicable experience (e.g., working in a data management and analysis role and developing summary reports and presentations). Senior candidates considered with 4+ years' experience with proven ability to operate at an elevated level.
  • Advanced background in Excel experience building and maintaining spreadsheets, utilizing pivot tables and advanced formulas, identifying and tracking trends over time and other key metrics as needed
  • Advanced background in Powerpoint and demonstrated ability to present data sets and analysis to a range of audiences in clean and compelling format
  • Advanced background in Power BI including importing data from multiple assets
  • Experience performing quantitative and comparative data validation and analytics
  • Ability to communicate takeaways, methodologies, and assumptions for data analysis
  • Experience with reporting and query tools (i.e., Sharepoint, Tableau, Business Objects, etc.), databases and data management

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Law firm or professional services industry experience
  • Workday reporting experience
  • Salesforce CRM experience
  • Adept in writing database queries (i.e., SQL, MySQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL) using SQL Developer, etc. and programming (VBA, C#, Python, Javascript or ETL frameworks)
  • Ability to merge and synthesize data from multiple sources into unified reports and presentations

Cooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices. EOE.

The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $39.50 - $58.00 ($82,160.00 - $120,640.00 annually). Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
