The Sr Private Bank Lending Specialist supports the Relationship Manager with their loan portfolio with extraordinary care and service. The Sr lending specialist works in primarily operational, processing, and analytical capacities, ensuring a high level of quality control from the loan application through closing process. The Senior Lending Specialist is expected to lead, mentor, and manage team members in loan pipeline oversight, and is an expert on credit policy, lending origination systems, and regulatory requirements involved in residential and/or commercial real estate/multi-family lending.
Primary responsibilities include
- Works closely with RM and client to identify lending needs and solutions.
- Performs analysis of client's financials to determine loan eligibility.
- After RM handoff, serves as main POC for all internal/external parties to lending transactions while keeping RM in the loop.
- Manages end-to-end loan process with clients, internal/external partners from inquiry through post-closing (e.g., presents loan to Credit Officer for approval, locks & submits loans, collects conditions, assists with closing coordination and any post-closing requests).
- Monitors pipeline to ensure loan workflow is efficient and meeting closing deadlines.
- Maintains a high level of quality control for verifying accuracy of financial and loan documents.
- The senior lending specialist will have more access and authority in the loan origination system than more junior Lending Specialists.
Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
- minimum 5+ years of experience and knowledge of credit policy, lending origination systems, and regulatory requirements involved in commercial real estate/multi-family lending. lending underwriting and loan processes
- Demonstrated success working in high net worth, non-traditional loans and underwriting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
- Proficient use of MS Excel is required- pivot tables, macros, formulas and application navigation
Hours & Work Schedule
- Hours per Week: 40 (this is an exempt position and meeting deadlines requires flexibility in time management and additional hours as needed)
- Work Schedule: M-F (required 4 days in office/1 day WFH)
Pay Transparency
- The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
