We're seeking a talented Principal Lead Cyber Engineer to join our team at our Reston, VA location. As a Principal Lead Cyber Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to oversee the technical support and security of our Cyber Security Products (CSP) portfolio.
Your Role:
As a Principal Lead Cyber Engineer, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, understanding customer needs and identify new sales opportunities, act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and internal sales, and perform system-level security integration and testing. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of our products and systems for the war figther while leading a team of support engineers.
You will make impacts as a Principal Lead Cyber Security Engineer in the following ways:
- Decompose customer product security requirements into feature-set capability requirements.
- Developing and delivering compelling product demonstrations and proof-of-concepts.
- Integrate cybersecurity features with existing software products.
- Manage budgets and allocate resources.
- Oversee proof of concept (POC) projects.
- Support cybersecurity audit and test events
- Address escalated technical issues.
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education and experience:
- Associate's or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in product support engineering or a similar technical role with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong experience with cybersecurity principles, risk management, and incident response.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting complex technical issues related to hardware, software, and networking.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, or equivalent certifications.
Team leadership and management:
- Experience leading, mentoring, setting goals, and developing a team of product support engineers.
- Ability to conduct one-on-one meetings, address team issues, and manage workloads and performance.
Technical skills:
- Capable of designing and proposing solutions that meet customer needs.
- Comfortable providing technical guidance and oversight on complex sales engagements.
- Strong experience working with operating systems (Red Hat, Linux, and Windows).
- Experience with network monitoring and system administration.
- Understanding of purpose and usage of; cryptographic objects: Keys, Certs, CRLs; algorithms: SHA, AES, RSA, ECC, HMAC, GMAC, etc., and protocols: TLS/DTLS, etc.
Communication and collaboration:
- Effective at communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Able to collaborate with internal teams (sales, product, marketing, customer success) and external partners
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- 5+ years of experience working in the DoD and IC communities.
- 12+ years of experience in product support engineering or a similar technical role.
- Experience with development of formal validation and verification procedures.
- Understanding of cryptographic objects, algorithms, and protocols.
- Experience with DISA STIGs and/or IAVA compliance hardening.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership.
- Cloud security (AWS, AXure, GCP).
- ISC2 certified in cybersecurity.
- CISSP certification.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
