Job Description
The Prin. Atlassian System Administrator role
is responsible for working to ensure the Lab42 iteration of Atlassian is built and will scale to internal specifications, supported per best practices and internal procedures, and is managed appropriately so end users are supported. Within this role you will lead process implementation, integrate Atlassian with other internal applications, migrate content from decommissioning environments and systems to Atlassian, drive efficiencies for our team, train end users on how to use the system as well as its export control functionalities, and mentor more Jr level administrators. The ability to self-direct and manage inclusive activities without direction as well as having experience/involvement in technical projects such as those dealing with AWS, software development, infrastructure stand up and migration activities are required for success.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Configuration, maintenance, and administration of Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jira Service Desk, various and numerous plug-ins)
  • Evaluate and manage the usage of Atlassian plug-ins to meet team and business needs
  • Work with software development and design teams to identify their requirements and translate them into efficient system operations
  • Lead insight into procedural and operational efficiencies
  • Devise, test, and deploy integrations between Atlassian products and other internal systems
  • Conduct training for employees and new hires on Lab42 Atlassian offerings and also briefing users on new functionalities.
  • Research and implement new approaches within Atlassian
  • Prompt issue resolution with JIRA Projects and Confluence in coordination with other admins, partner teams and Atlassian premier support
  • Assist in the overall architecture design and development of Lab42 environments and structure and realizing the "art of the possible"
  • Oversee all monitoring, reporting, and troubleshoot issue resolution
  • Be a key point of contact for Lab42 Atlassian system
  • Participate in Lab42 change management processes
  • Active participation during internal audits involving Lab42

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Atlassian certification
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to work with IT as well as business users
  • Expert/subject matter expert in Atlassian Suite application administration
  • Knowledge of Software Development cycles and pipeline operations
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with JQL
  • Working knowledge of both Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • Experience directly integrating Atlassian products with other systems
  • Familiarity with federal Cybersecurity policies and industry best practices
  • Previous experiencing as a team lead

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Excellent with problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Open Source tools, such as Rancher, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Azure, platforms and solutions

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $105254 - $178931
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
