DIRECTV is seeking a Principal, Technical Project Program Manager to own all aspects of technical management for large programs and projects. The projects and programs are typically high value, long term strategic projects that involve new and/or enhancing technology, are highly complex, and require tight coordination and integration with multiple organizations and suppliers. The Technical Project Program Manager has advanced knowledge and wide-ranging experience to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

This position will be responsible for managing various aspects of DIRECTV’s functional Transition Service Agreements.  Responsibilities will include coordination of project plans, timelines, and risks with DIRECTV business partners, in addition to managing contractual obligations and delivery requirements.  Successful candidates should have strong project management skills and can effectively coordinate complex initiatives across multiple companies.

Here's what you’ll do:

  • Manage enterprise-level projects involving Information Technology, Engineering, and other cross-functional areas of the business. The ideal candidate has knowledge across the teams and is able to manage resources from all teams to accomplish the project tasks and goals.
  • Own definition and improvement of processes.
  • Identify alerting and monitoring gaps and assist responsible teams to close gaps by taking action through the feedback loop.
  • Identify opportunities for automated remediation of common platform issues and assist in the development of remediation scripts when possible.
  • Develop and deliver training and share knowledge to help increase the skill level of the team.
  • Manage complex cross-factory Engineering and IT projects and track technical tasks and milestones.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer or Data Analytics nanodegree; or equivalent analytical degree.
  • Typically requires 5 – 7 years of experience.
  • Professional with advanced project management experience required.
  • Experience in skillfully managing relationships between vendor resources and internal resources.
  • Require minimal guidance and use judgement to make complex decisions.

May require a background check due to job duties requiring routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer’s proprietary data. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction will be considered for employment in accordance with local ordinances and state law.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $116,375 - $211,255

Low (N1): $116,375 - $174,515

Mid (N2): $122,500 - $183,700

High (N3): $134,750 - $202,070

Top (N4): $140,875 - $211,255
