The Principal Product Manager, Systems Transformation role is a leadership position focused on driving the strategic design, governance, and implementation of scalable systems and processes to meet the needs of a global media and entertainment organization. This role ensures the seamless integration of creative content delivery, technical accuracy, and compliance with industry standards such as MovieLabs specifications, while optimizing workflows and operations across a complex global supply chain.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Alignment and Leadership

Translate strategic objectives into actionable systems transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.

Serve as a key liaison between engineering, business, legal, and operations teams to align cross-functional priorities and ensure.

Drive the continuous evolution of systems and workflows to meet emerging business needs, industry trends, and technological advancements.

Metadata and Content Flow Optimization

Define and implement the structure, organization, and flow of metadata across the supply chain to ensure compatibility with standards such as MovieLabs Common Metadata.

Collaborate with engineering teams to validate and map metadata accurately across titles, episodes, dubs, and subs.

Ensure territories, rights, and format types are correctly tracked and integrated into servicing workflows.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

Design and oversee workflows to ensure compliance with MovieLabs specifications for content delivery, metadata formats, and security requirements.

Partner with engineering to develop tools for automating quality control (QC) checks and validating compliance across all phases of the supply chain.

Maintain robust logging, auditing, and provenance tracking to ensure the integrity and security of content.

Servicing and Delivery Optimization

Design workflows that enable the efficient global delivery of localized content versions (dubs, subs) aligned with rights and territory data.

Leverage automation to streamline work orders, content readiness tracking, and delivery schedules.

Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize servicing workflows for scalability, speed, and accuracy.

Technology Implementation and Governance

Drive the implementation of scalable, flexible systems that support expanding global content distribution strategies.

Develop governance frameworks to ensure systems and tools adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Oversee the integration of secure asset delivery, encryption, and access control measures into systems and workflows.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing insights and recommendations on systems transformation strategies.

Collaborate with legal and distribution teams to incorporate holdback rules, regional licensing, and other compliance requirements into servicing workflows.

Foster a collaborative culture across teams, ensuring alignment and shared accountability for success.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Prioritize iterative improvements to systems and workflows based on internal feedback and evolving industry standards.

Promote innovation by exploring new technologies, methodologies, and approaches to enhance scalability, efficiency, and user satisfaction.

Lead efforts to embed a culture of continuous learning within the organization.

In the role of Principal Product Manager, Systems Transformation, you will report to the Director of Business Transformation.

About You

Experience and Skills

15+ years of experience in systems transformation or a related field within the media and entertainment industry.

Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex programs with high levels of technical complexity and cross-functional dependencies.

Deep understanding of content delivery pipelines, metadata management, and industry standards such as MovieLabs, IMF, and EMA.

Strong expertise in designing scalable workflows, leveraging automation, and optimizing global servicing operations.

Align systems and workflows with business needs, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements.

Leadership and Collaboration

Experience communicating product updates, milestones, and progress to internal and external partners, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, business, legal, and operations teams.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
