Job Description
The Systems Security Engineer (SSE) is responsible for implementing and maintaining secure systems and networks. This role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information and infrastructure. This is achieved through proactive vulnerability identification, robust security measure implementation, and effective response to security incidents.
The SSE requires skills and expertise in diverse areas, such as defining security requirements, evaluating security architecture views, conducting thorough threat assessments, and understanding networking principles. A strong grasp of security technologies, hardware and software security, security testing and evaluation methodologies, vulnerability assessment techniques, penetration testing practices, and supply chain security risk assessment is fundamental.
SSEs collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Mission Partner Teams (MPTs), and various stakeholders to support complex systems. They provide technical expertise in Program Protection efforts, actively participating in daily tasks. This includes evaluating technology tools to ensure information protection, assessing Program Protection plans, and developing and enforcing security standards.
This position offers opportunities to enhance communication and customer relationship skills within a collaborative team of Program Protection professionals. Successful candidates are energetic, self-motivated, adaptable to fast-paced environments, and driven to make an impact. Prior knowledge and experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Air Force policies and processes are essential requirements.
Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • B.S. in STEM with 7 years, or M.S. with 5 years of experience in systems engineering (preferably requirements evaluation and development).
  • Self-motivated proactive person with a "team player" mentality.
  • Highly organized, detail-orientated.
  • Willingness to learn and share knowledge.
  • Proactively provides ideas/thoughts and accepts constructive criticism.
  • Values brainstorming and fostering strong team relationships.
  • Possesses both strategic thinking skills and tactical execution skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Active Secret clearance (adjudicated within 5 years or on CE).

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Proficiency with Cameo and DOORs or similar requirements tools.
  • Prior experience with DoD/Air Force weapons systems.
  • ICBM weapon system experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Security Classification Guide(s).
  • Familiarity with Program Protection & Supply Chain Risk Management.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Familiar with digital architectures (DoDAF and SysML).
  • Familiar with requirements decomposition and allocations.
  • Ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $105254 - $178931
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
