As a System Engineer at Micron, you will work closely with leading customers jointly evaluating cutting-edge LPDRAM specifications and architectures. This role is based primarily at the customer’s development lab and involves hands-on teamwork to validate Micron LPDRAM on customer systems under development.

You will be responsible for building test environments, proposing and verifying test plans, and ensuring that test content aligns with both customer and internal Micron requirements. Programming skills are essential for developing test scripts and analyzing results. The role also includes developing custom socket fixtures in collaboration with external vendors to enable measurement on customer systems, requiring strong communication and comprehension skills.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Perform signal integrity measurements targeting LPDRAM
  • Conduct command sequence measurements/analysis for LPDRAM
  • Develop test scripts for execution on customer systems
  • Build software tools for analyzing collected data
  • Develop and build custom fixtures (primarily sockets) for measurement on customer platforms in collaboration with vendors
  • Generate detailed reports based on test results
  • Investigate, execute, and report root cause analysis for issues
  • Maintain smooth communication with customer engineers
  • Collaborate with internal Micron teams to identify issues and propose solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical topics related to LPDRAM
  • Ability to present technical findings and insights through test result analysis
  • Experience building and implementing test environments tailored to both customer and internal needs
  • Ability to capture requirements and propose solutions for test and debug scenarios
  • Proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, Perl, C)
  • Hands-on experience with LPDRAM measurements using oscilloscopes (OSC), logic analyzers (LA), and protocol analyzers (PA)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a manager located overseas (Japan)
  • Strong self-management skills and ability to report progress from customer lab environments
  • Ability to solder probes, some rework of fine pitch components.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$169,000.00 - $344,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
